...she's having a leaving do and card and collection.
Is that normal?
she has proven to be quite helpful though
but if she's liked and quite good, why not?
thank you in advance.
My name is Jonas
I'm carrying the whale.
I mean, it blew my mind to find out that later line is 'My name is Wake Me Up' and not 'Wakefield' or 'Whigfield' recently.
it's not and i'll have that song in my head.
but I was a temp for 11 months.
He's dropping us right in it work wise. Somebody just came round with a collection for him, I politely refused.
If you didn't realise she existed, then no.
Day 2 of the temp being in. So far she has:
- slammed the phone down in a fit
- sworn at every internal email she's received
- Asked me how to scan/print
- Actually took my pen out my hand to write something down without saying anything
Wow. No leaving card for her.
they probably awkwardly shuffled away from the person
Or went ballistic
and said nothing of course only to rant about it later on this thread.
We had a major pitch that had to go out this morning so we needed extra help. Don't think she will be here much longer though.
if so they should call the agency, tell their concerns and ask them to find a replacement.
Leaving 'ceremonies' are literally the most cringeworthy things at my workplace.
it's spelt wrong
the popular swedish jig
AS 'TEMPS' LIKE THEY ARE FUCKING SECOND CLASS CITIZENS OR SOMETHING.
Repeatedly on this forum.
It's fucking rude and demoralising.
If i caused offence then i'm sorry. i was trying to ask though if the practice is normal, referring to the person as being a temporary member of staff seemed to be essential to the OP.
If it helps you can call me a perm.
but saying "Abbey is leaving the office, is it normal to have a night out, collection and card?" doesn't quite capture the essence of the question, that they are demi-humans in comparison to permys.
'ADMIN GIRL....ADMIN GIRL'
DON'T WANNA BE ON MY OWN (IN THE OFFICE) AGAIN TONIGHT
DON'T WANNA TURN OUT THE LIIIIGHTS
when I worked in Carpet Right, many moons ago.
WAREHOUSE TO RECEPTION PLEASE.
At least I got a please. Great days.
shame on you. they're people you know.
looks to me like she referred to 'temps' as temps.
less skilled, get paid less, fewer rights.
they should count themselves lucky, really.
