a far superior product than the standard-sized variety of kiev.
I'm glad we can all agree on this fundamental matter.
Both are amazing
big kievs far too rich.
Are you for real? Do you know what a kiev is?
I bet you're talking about the cheese and ham variety and if you are you can GO TO HELL
are you feeling okay?
You've been acting very strangely of late.
I'll never forget the birthday where CG bought ham and cheese kievs and fat chips instead of garlic kievs and thin chips.
It was beyond even annoyance, more astonishment that he could possibly have been so wrong. Then just as you were about to eat I rememebered I had a garlic kiev in the freezer. I was going to offer it to you then I figured that would make it even worse.
I wouldn't have minded if it was just a regular day but my BIRTHDAY? oooh man. I specifically stated thin chips and garlic kiev.
That would have been very nice of you but I probably would have just gave me more ammo against him by saying something like 'Lucy didn't even know I wanted garlic kiev today YET she had one ready...and all you've given me is this lousy cheese and ham shitttt'
It ended up being quite nice and I got loads of gifts and we went to see Why? but he refused to buy me a cup of tea when we were there.
This is made even funnier by the fact it must have been getting on for a year ago. You really do love your garlic.
So sorry to hear that.
shoulda dumped him on the spot for that offence.
He was happy as larry though. The git.
Almost ruined my whole holiday when it happened in Bruges last month, I was furious.
The ham and cheese thing just turns an already unpleasant tale into a nightmare.
I'm not so keen on them. I like a french fry. A thin oven chip at a push but not a fat oven chip. Nice and crispy is what i like.
I can definitely see how it would ruin a day or a holiday. Its really hard to deal with but you have to move past (I'm still not over it almost a year later)
And we're both in the right.
My boyfriend bought some homepride oven chips the other day and they are MASSIVE, I was so disappointed but I sucked it up thinking maybe they will be alright cooked but they were rubbish and took ages but still weren't properly fluffy inside. I normal sized oven chips and I like fries and I like chunkyish fish and chip shop chips (but squishy cos they are so squishy and greasy and crispy also) anyway RAGE.
although lemon butter ones are QUITE good.
You're eating the wrong kind of Kiev if its rich. You need the ones with the garlic butter not the garlicy cream stuff.
JESUS VERBAL. Learn how to live.
The inside should be hollow with a melted puddle of garlic butter. If that stuff can hold its own and not ooze out it must be far too thick.
But creamy/cheesy kievs have their place too.
Kievs are great, but the bigger the better. All about that oozing garlic butter. So swag.
by taking my trousers off and shitting on the ferrero rocher, putting them back on, folding my arms and looking around the room with a smug grin. And everyone is looking back in horror.
Normal Kievs are also very nice though.
Next he'll be saying how much he prefers a prawn spoon to a normal prawn.
Sounds a bit euphemistic.
a prawn and a little bit of cocktail sauce already attached to a spoon!
I ate the spoon, pretty sure it was edible
On a related note, did anyone's mum ever use to make "prawn sauce" by just mixing mayo and ketchup?
It might be horseraddish actually instead of mayo.
kievs, quiches, pork pies, scotch eggs, BURGERS??!?! Where is it all going to end, WHERE?
theyre a good party food
I've heard it all now
mini fish and chips served as canapés at a wedding - pretty, pretty good.
Kievs are dreadful things. The chicken is always parched. A crispy pancake, on the other harnd. OMG. Where would I buy them from?
To not only to come into this thread and slag off Chicken Kievs, but to then big up the monstrosity that is Crispy Pancakes in their place? I despair.
You don't deserve this link, but here it is anyway: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=264786156
The large ones are so dry though, joporz
but i've been served them and they're always dry. OK, another experiment- attempt kievs. maybe mini ones....
Chips, mash or pasta? I sometimes go for all 3 when I can't decide. Plenny ketchup too.
Obviously, Kiev is served on top, so that when you cut into it the juices are running all over your carbohydrate(s) of choice
never pasta though. odd behaviour
Goes a treat with it, don't knock it 'til you've tried it and all that
gonna try it.
I made duck kievs the other day with balsamic cherry filling and pistachio crusts.
Ever seen that before or did I invent it?
