Serious answers only please
I accept this notion.
revolves a topic so whacky that it was discussed only a few days ago
Read the top. The only comedy involved is the thought that my office furniture is tiny - the thought of it toppling under excessive weight is LAUGHABLE to me.
what difference would it make if it was at home or at work? I can open all my chest of drawers at once and it doesn't topple over.
with big chests of drawers and stuff?
my huge chest at home, I owuld probably be left to wither and die because i live alone and my flatmate works abroad. Whereas if i was pinned to the floor in the office by one of these beasts, I'd have all of the hotties from the trading floor picking me up and dusting me down and calling my ambulance etc.
If I could choose a way to go, being trapped under some chick's huge chest.
Self assembly drawers are tricky enough as it is. It's so easy to get the runners just a little bit wrong, stopping them from fitting.
pick mine, Looseeun
because it prevents the odds of you accidentally having a huge amount of weight outlying at the front, which would make it tip.
Double-pedestal desk = dislocated kneecaps
with massive steel hinges underneath — the fucking pain!
Apparently it's to stop gravity toppling it over. So now you know.
cause that could kill you
All joking aside, I've pondered it for at least 18 months since I got my tiny office furniture.
Cause like the desk is there so if it pulled over front ways, it would go up by about 5 cm and then stop because the desk is there.
You can't open all of the filing cabinet drawers at once for secuirty reasons. Someone could nick a file out of the bottom one whilst you're filing in the top one. They could bring down your whole organisation.
You've seen my knees. Thee're always blue and green and yellow because of these bloody office drawers.
Those little chest of drawers that go under your desk do it but they physically cannot topple over BECAUSE the desk is there to stop it.
Mine is beside my desk.
have it squish your handbag
think i need to email Environmental Health about this
Manufacturers are so thoughtless
Keep it serious please
You said fellatio *GAG*.
Keep it serious yourself bro!
I read this in the Guardian on Saturday and cannot believe it's true / I've gone for years without knowing this.
there isn't always a little arrow. it's definitely not a convention for one to be there.
but if there is an arrow indicator, revealing what said arrow means is hardly an insider secret.
and tried to stick my head out of the window whilst pulling into the petrol garage
you CAN open the top two together (just tried) but not either of the top two plus the bottom.
Don't know if that helps at all.
I've just tested and can confirm that you can open the top two at the same time. Which makes no sense, because it's surely the top drawers most at risk of causing a total cabinet topple. This is ludicrous
No one is respecting my wishes - I'm letting it slide because we're still only getting serious responses
THUS PROVING THE THEORY TO BE BUlllllllllllsHIT
i didn't reply there........
i have all three of the drawers on my under-desk storage open at the moment
IT'S A POTENTIAL DEATH TRAP! [/lynn fauldes-wood sccent]
Step back and call your H&S head immediately
i'd say the bottom drawer (c. 23cm x 23cm x 35cm) is half-full with papers, and there's no sign of tipping.
i think i've just broken the laws of physics right here.
or at least interfere, with the mechanism.
I bet no one has said that yet, have they?
I made a sheep jumper.
SOME OF US ACTUALLY DO WORK AT WORK YEAH? YEAH.
political correctness gone mad
I don't have these drawers at my new job. IN fact, I don't have any drawers!
I wnat a litte stack of drawers, on wheels. with wonky doors.
I am glad I'm not the only person who sometimes wonders this.
was just opening my desk drawers and realised that although when one drawer is open the others can't be opened (from shut), it's possible to have them all open at the same time if they're all opened (from shut) at the same time.
as you were, team.
