An Emmerdale Farm fan yeah?
it's still incredible so shut up
Which soap opera would people say looks the most accurate, architecturally, to the area that it's supposed to be set in?
I'd always thought that Walford was pretty inaccurate a depiction, but as I understand it, the pub and some of the buildings were actually real, and I think the square is a real square turned into a TV set.
Bit odd really - if you have a look around on google street view, it looks a country fucking mile away from anything surrounding the location of Albert Square. I know that that is London all over, it's just that the types of houses in Albert Square look completely out of place with anything surrounding.

neither the pub nor houses are real. they're just shells (fronts built onto scaffolding). it's basically an old car park.
all internal shots are done at Elstree.
it's based on a real square in Hackney, though.
I'm sure that I've read that the pub was once a real one that they'd converted?
Yeah the main sets are in Boreham wood, elstree.
i watch maybe one episode of each per month. corrie wins. they need to bring back uncle umed, though.
the list goes on.
