Let's talk about hotels
Last night I was looking at hotels for a trip to Malaysia next year, staying in KL for a few nights and I was surprised at what you can get for your money out there! Think my gf and I will splash out and go for a couple of nights in one of them well snazzy hotel in the city centre. We'll pay much less a night there than we did in either York or Edinburgh, (I'm pretty sure they didn't even leave mints on the pillow in the latter and I had to go and buy some myself.)
Anyhow, what's the nicest and worst hotel/motel/chalet/leisure village of doom type place you've ever stayed in?
Nicest - A chalet in Redang, an island off the east coast of Malaysia, right next to the beach. Was pretty great waking up and being able to walk and eat breakfast on the beach.

Worst - A Butlins somewhere in Wales in the 1990s. Freezing cold, cigarette burns everywhere, we actually left early. It was so bleak there was even an abandoned cassette tape of Babylon Zoo's Spaceman left in the tape player.
