and all that, someone else posted without one earlier and they did ok!
This is rather good. I like it. A lot.
and our release show is in glasgow on the 5th at bar bloc! Cheers for the kind words!
there's a picture on the page.
I think I'm a music reviewer so I'll impart my opinion as fact in 10 or 15 minutes.
Really enjoyed it. It's great. Especially the opening track. Not often that happens. Last track was weakest but still good. Especuially the Stellastarr* style riffage at the end.
Here's my patronising advice:
1) Scrap myspace
2) Don't charge people for a download, only ask for an email address
3) Every band I've ever been in has sucked so don't listen to me
4) Saying that read this: http://musicgob.tumblr.com/post/22709927364/some-more-advice-to-bands
I'm gonna put this on my blog I like it so much.
the last track sounds a lot better live I would say, the only slight niggle I have with the recording is that we didn't get the dynamics on it quite right because we were short of time.
we don't use myspace really, haven't touched that page in ages.
so far a couple people have bought downloads, so we'll leave it for now, but I'd imagine in a couple weeks we will drop it down just to an email, that's a good idea.
and thanks for re-blogging us! very kind!
What mokes says about it slamming to the top of your Google ranking is much more important if that's the case.
will get on that
this has gone well so far, sold a few copies, 400 listens in two days!
First track sounds a bit like Jarcrew.
Not sure about the guitar tone in the second track.
Damn sight better than anything Howlett and I ever wrote anyway.
you guys will have your time yet, we'll play together ;)
Oh yeah? Any cop?
Great Cop, actually.
Enjoyable stuff. I think calling yourself post-punk is a bit of a disservice since you don't really sound like Joy Division or Gang of Four, which is what it makes me think of. You've also put 'punk rock' but again, it doesn't sound like that to me. It reminds me a bit of The Thermals, erm. I don't know, just saying I think you sound like a different genre, but I don't know what it is.
we're probably somewhere between indie and punk I guess.
First track especially.
You ought to be in LA-- you'd fit in well with the No Age, Wavves, etc Smell bands.
You're not quite the Japandroids, mind...don't want you to get a big head... but you're in the same ballpark, so kudos to you. :)
Agreed on the LA/Smell likeness.
Going there last summer was a blast! Thanks!
This is great. Always love a JAG that delivers (musically).
to launch this EP. It's at Bar Bloc!
but cheers if you did, we had a really big crowd with a couple of noteable faces, shame all our equipment fucked before we even went on! ;)
