given this https://twitter.com/simonisrael/status/238578632119963648 can there be a retrial?
That you cannot be put on trial for the same crime twice (hence the Ashley Judd film where she's convicted of killing her husband - who actually faked his own death - then sets out to kill him sans consequences).
This law was repealed in the UK under Jack Straw.
So yeah, I guess a retrial is theoretically possible if the evidence were key to the conviction or lack of it.
Patel's autopsy was the main, if not ONLY, thing casting reasonable doubt on the manslaughter charge
And that's why the manslaughter charge was eventually brought. There's no way this is getting a retrial.
But the state is still gonna say that this doesn't obviate the defence's evidence enough. We also don't actually know what the jury's reasons for reaching a not guilty verdict in their deliberations were and can't find out.
could've been reached in part based on Patel's evidence though. You can't discount it. You'll have to ask them idk.
then a retrial would be in order. If not then the law could start looking like an arse :D
then i see no reason to not have a retrial, and there is no excuse to not have one, other than in these dangerous times the forces of control must start o co-operate together, as the people are many and will start to get more an more desperate and will need to be controlled by increasingly burly means
Nah mate, I'm sparts
bollocks, I'm sparts
fuck off will you? I'm sparts innit
Low budget semi-improvised 2012 British remake of Spartacus sadly lacks gravitas of 1960 Kubrick version.
