Not having that. Just more 'work harder' bullshit.
a man whose main job takes a long summer break telling us all to work harder? hilarious
they the minimum wage is "a machine that destroys jobs", but are jobs that pay less than that actually worth having? probably not.
and the idea that we should be idealising the disaster capitalism of China is just... wow.
basically, just fuck off.
I find these types bizarre, no awareness that they need to win elections
they're all members of our legislature
yeah but to remain in power, and the long term electability of their party. I just find it weird how unrealistic their expectations are, they hold views that aren't even held by the mainstream of their party, in a party that didnt win the election outright, and yet they still think they should get their way, its like they actually want to be back in opposition and dont remember that that period of detoxification that was needed for them to get anywhere near power, just doesnt seem to be any strategic about it, tone down the more unpopular views and then sneak them through once elected rather than shout about views and risk reelection
their base allegiance to the party ensures and our pseudo-presidential system ensures that they'll continue to get re-elected completely irregardless of their own platforms, and they're free to try and influence central party policy as a voting block. they'll never get exactly what they want, but they'll get some of it.
people advocating it will always find someone to give them a platform/generous amounts of funding. Manoeuvre them into a true-blue Tory seat and Bob's your uncle.
Yeah individually stuff like this probably improves their election chances in some areas, but for a party as a whole I think it is damaging, uk elections are won on the centre ground, try and pull a party too far either way and it leaves the votes behind
but she was also banging on about how much harder we all apparently need to work - although the message was obviously couched in much cuddlier terms, it was more of the same neoliberal bollocks, so I wouldn't expect anything substantially different from Labour either.
But in a way I'm glad some Tories are at least honest about their rah-rah fuck-the-proles agenda, as stomach-churning as it is. Whatever happened to the sensible, moderate One Nation types of yesteryear though?
Last year, Raab and his co-authors published a predecessor to Britannia Unchained for a smaller publisher, titled After the Coalition: A Conservative Agenda for Britain. "The last 30 years of public debate in Britain has been dominated by leftwing thinking," the introduction rather startlingly declared, as if the transformative 18 years of the Thatcher and Major governments had never happened.
this is what being right wing is all about - if people aren't successful, if we're not growing, it's because of lack of effort. Recessions make conservatives angry and depressed at our lack of effort, I think. George Osborne is just going to get more and more frustrated that we're not delivering growth for him until he flips out and starts shouting at us.
"some slave owners and their freinds, advocate whipping the slaves to work harder.
There have always been cunts like this. Hopefully if the slaves manage to break free they will remember who were the worst and only slit their throats, and will be more lenient to philanthropic slave owners, unfortunately it is often weasels like this bunch, who are able to quickly change their tune to save their own miserable scrawny necks"
(To quote a spart)
is one of those cry-baby anti-feminist 'male liberation' types as well, as if he wasn't a big enough berk already. Check him out pooing in his nappy in public here (another classic URL from the Mail): http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1350128/Tory-MP-Dominic-Raab-Feminists-obnoxious-bigots-men-raw-deal.html
i think he needs every demographical group of women who get paid less than their equivalent group of men to have a go at him...........................in fact that can be his sentence (in my karmic mental court of justice - tied to a chair, every woman whose pay is unfairly lower in this country gets 1 minute to tell him what she thinks of him
that have read some Nietzche
Anyone remember Blue and Purple Labour? Didn't think so
thus preventing all those go-getting unemployed types from working their arses off. Or something.
