Can anyone think of any?
Glad to help.
It definitely happened with the Muppets in a piss-take way but I reckon it has happened with other films. Just not sure which.
had two different trailers - one for the bed-wetting fanboys and one for the older audience
(especially after September 11th)
Does that count?
Time Bandits apparently had separate advertising campaigns for children, British Python fans and for American stoners.
obviously had the one trailer that managed to not include any singing. Did they also have one that mentioned it's a musical?
Although something aimed at t'youth of today'd be ideal. I need to demonstrate to a group of 16-18 year olds how different trailers target different audiences. I've got a few ideas but possibly need something a bit modern than my usual reference points...
and find the Cheese Rolling trailer on one of the discs (think it's on disc 2).
Honest answer, though, is that I'm not sure this has been done. You could check Three Kings. The trailer made it look like a bit of a gung-ho, meathead war film rather than the leftist anti-war piece it was.
