Band bio thread #2571
Hi, I’m Jeannine Barry. I’m a singer and I have a dream. That’s why I’m here. But more about that later.
I love London which is where I live, perform and record at the moment. I spend most of my time with my younger sister who I live with and love to bits. We’re like best friends and support each other.
I’ve lived in many different places throughout my life and each had its own purpose. One of
them was Berlin which is where I met the wonderful vocal coach David Lee Brewer who has taught amazing artists such as Beyonce Knowles, Letoya Lukkett and many more. I know! Impressive right? David’s belief in my abilities and bright future made me belief in myself and so I started studying with him. Followed by first experiences on stage and working with producers such as Loomis Green (Jan Delay) and Rares Cara (Sido). I then started writing my own songs and still am...
I write when I’m alone, in my bedroom, where I feel safe. My lyrics are personal and real and about things that move me. I want to share my experiences with the world and want to touch other people’s life’s with them.
When I’m nervous or am over thinking, I play with my hair. I don’t know why but it’s been a bad habit since I was a little girl. So you might catch me causing split ends to my hair before going on stage :). I’ve performed a lot London in many places ranging from The Constitution to The purple Turtle and Proud Galleries, Camden. I love performing with my guitarist James who is simply wonderful. We have lots of fun together. We still go to open mice’s just to be heard, enjoy the experience and meet loads of talented people.
By the way, I also speak German fluently because I grew up in an English/German household which is pretty cool.
These days I am busy with finishing my EP/Album. I love working with the bubbly and super nice Denis Gajetic (Gadjet Studios) who is producing the music. The Album is due to be released in October 2012 which I am super excited about! And here we are, back to my dream...I basically already live it! Now I want my music to be heard all over the world and especially America. That’s where I want to be.
One of my favourite quotes that went through my FB newsfeed was: How others see you is not important. How you see yourself means everything. :)
Thank you for listening and stay tuned!
Lots of love, Jeannine
