Saw the Olympic Torch!
Got punched in the side.
it certainly is scorchio out there, stay safe people. Makes me want to break open a fire hydrant and play with some kids in the street. Public transport is a bit of a pain at the moment, oh boy we're like sardines being lightly grilled by a questionable Portugese gentleman.
Got the torch coming near work today, already seen it but still might pop along anyway as you never know your luck there might be a celebrity running with it. Between you and me I'm hoping for a bit of crumpet.
Have heard that the weather is meant to change a bit for the worse tomorrow, ha ha talk about timing what with the opening ceremony and all. Can english people get away with saying y'all like they do in the US. I don't think so. Oh and my gusset is sodden.
let's practice our double dutch routines
i have been unable to get credit for puuure time. think i even started a thread about it. i joined experian so that i could get to the bottom of what was going on and yesterday my details arrived in the post. i'm looking through and it's like, car finance, yeah, old credit card that was settled ages ago, yeah, then i find a credit card under MBNA for £1,500 that is showing as active, but with a balance of zero. it's registered to my parents address. i remember having a virgin credit card a while back and a little research shows that mbna and virgin is the same thing in this case. call my mum and ask if i've been getting statements or anything. she says no. she then reminds me of a time when she owed me like £350 or so about 3 years ago and instead of paying me back just said she would pay off the balance of my card. well it turns out she did it by paying £15 a month and just finished doing it three months ago, making MANY late payments along the way. so that's why i can't get credit.
BUT the silver lining is that the card was never shut down, which means all i have to do now is get in touch, get a replacement card (i destroyed the old one) and then i have a tool to start improving my rating in case i actually do need credit in the future.
but good to see you have a vehicle to improve your rating. Credit ratings are utterly bizare things...
but yeah, at least i'm in a a position where i know what's going on now and i can get it sorted. i can just use the card for fuel and, with time (and by the grace of god, and my mother) it will get sorted
6 months later they'd increased my limit to a lot more thanks to me actually using it and paying it off.
but i had to work out what was going on, at least now i can shut down my experian account before the free trial ends, get a replacement card and get it sorted. it is such bollocks though. £15 a month to access information about myself that all these financial institutions are using. such balls.
my other current financial adventure is that i got a letter through the post from barclays pensions saying "are you the cat_race that used to work for barclays we've been trying to find you". i used to work for barclays (not in the pensions department though) and i was like "yeah i'm c_r" so i'll just wait and see what that is about. i honestly can't remember whether or not i ever paid into a pension when i was with barclays. i was too busy posting on dis on my old account.
I was in fucking Santander and they offered me a credit card, said it's guaranteed approval, so I says to them 'ok' I says. Only failed the credit check didn't I? CHEERS SANTANDER.
I've been paying my mobile phone bill on time in full for the last 8 years. Also had a career development loan for that I paid every month and was never late. Rarely out of work for the past 5 years. Yet when I go to Evans to buy a bike on their 0% finance scheme, can I get it? Can I heck. Had to pay for the bike in full there and and then didn't I, which is less helpful for their cash flow.
I think it's because i've moved address so many times. Should always have everything financial connected with your parents address if you see yourself moving about a lot. It's too late for me now though.
basically can just buy some fuel, pay it off, wait for older stuff to fall off the 6 year (or whatever it is) window that is looked at. blah.
I need coffee. Or something. I don't know.
I had to sleep on the couch because the bed was so uncomfortable it was unbearable :( plus I didn't get to sleep until well gone three. Great.
bought dog food. (!!!!!!!!)
Took my work desk fan home last night and put it by my bed - lovely and cool in bed.
Forgot to bring it back into work today - gonna be a mega sweaty day. I'll take it on the chin though, because I'm tough like that.
Loving this weather, hope it stays like it for camping on the weekend.
I'm well busy until about Wednesday now. Going to some party coz they've made a wall in the Lomo shop in Manchester or something tonight, don't really get it but my gf's got a photo up on it coz she's got skillz with a lens and there will be free cider i think. Then tomorrow it's Plank, then Sat it's Burnst and This City Is Ours, then Sun I sleep for a bit, then Mon I've got family over from the US who I haven't seen for years and am taking out in Mcr, then Tue it's a film screening thing and then Wed I'm going to my friend's house to watch Teen Wolf and prob fall asleep on her settee and have to get a taxi home. I have no time off work left. I booked a holiday last night though, we're going to Barcelona in October! Mental. Oh and I want to come to London on August 18 to see Johnny Foreigner. Should I do this? I might do this.
see hookworms at the plank thing. hookworms are good
i'll probably go straight into town after work so there's no reason i should miss them really, unless i get DISTRACTED by DRINKING
He was also in one of my favourite ever bands hit for six. Great great guy.

THE ANDYVINE-THEMED LONG WEEKEND 2012
You're SO lucky
The robin has been in bouncing round the desks again.
Off to see Foe/Fever Fever and Vuvuvultures tonight. Will probably be very hungover tomorrow.
Which is good because I am going to the beach later on to play some sort of football. Yay!
Also corrected Ben Goldacre about something on Twitter. Feeling pretty studly.
feeling pretty crappy for the umpteenth day running, so taking a day off work. Just watched easy A, and rather enjoyed it. Payday tomorrow, thank fuck, will be able to afford food again b d.
If I'm not banned by sundown then something will be amiss
in many ways, it's an odd place
It was actually really, really good. It was called Dr Scetch.
I'm really starting to get the hang of having a couple of pints and not getting absolutely rat arsed. Took a couple of years.
Is it like life drawing but sexier?
The girls do some dancing and stuff and then you got 2 minutes to draw them and whoever does the best one wins a prise.
Sounds naff but it was a giggle.
Apart from all the beautiful women with nice figures :/...
Nah, it was good.
I guess you'd get some more interesting shapes than just with people standing there. When I used to do life drawing in uni we had the same model every week, Naked John. I saw him in town once and didn't recognise him at first because he had clothes on
I used the BBQ my mates had left me when they moved away last month, for the first time away from their house last night. Kept it quite simple. I butterflied some chicken breasts and marinaded them with garlic, Italian herbs, smoked paprika, chilli powder, Worcester sauce, onion salt, lemon juice and a splash of olive oil. Enjoyed one of them in a cheese roll last night and have another to eat with my salad for lunch today. I also made a marinade cum glaze for some ribs with garlic, Worcester sauce, brown sauce, cumin, jerk spices, ground chipotle a bit of olive oil and honey, which I thought worked quite nicely. Finally I’d got some sausages from Waitrose, so I had a chorizo style one and a Toulouse one each in half a pitta. Oooh, and I also had a cob of corn. Nice.
Today I’ve got to write up my half year review at work, which is distracting me from completing building a Gantt Chart into a spreadsheet, the code from which I spent yesterday turning into a festival clashfinder.
Tonight I’ve got a jam for the first time since May. I’m probably not going to remember anything I wrote back then. I might insist on writing some sludgy punk riffs I’ve been writing on an acoustic over the last week, but I’ll probably end up frustrated when the other guitarist insists on exclusively working on tunes that he’s written as per usual.
Only went and got signed off work didn't I? Massive relief though, I'll be spending the day soaking up as much Vitamin D as possible and sorting out boring stuff that relates to moving house.
Anyone know of any gigs in Herts/Cambs/London my band could play next Thursday? I promise you we're good and don't need money.
I had 3 hours sleep. And I'm having a toast crash.
What shall I listen to?
I've gone with Otis Redding.
This morning, whilst the kettle was boiling, I moisturised. Worked well.
Fully plan on sitting here playing with gimp and listening to Feist.
works put a dampener on things mind
was downhill from there
I need pity.
feeling pretty posi today after having made several major decisions this last week. LIFE. isn't it great?
with our new aircon unit blasting cold air at me on the balcony. It's heavenly.
Major job interview at 6pm. EEEP. I'm preparing by making my freckles come out, whilst yoga breathing and working through fight sequences in my head to get my testosterone up. I might go and punch a bull in the balls.
