Why all the sudden love?
I hated them when I was about 10 and (probably) hate them now.
I did one the other day but accidentally used cookie and cream ice cream. It was revolting.
Cookie and cream ice cream and COKE
Probably loads of bits it in as well.
Ice cream melting into a fizzy drink? it just doesn't sound right. I guess I should give it a go though; there must be some reason why people love them.
Cream Soda and Lemonade
no one drinks cream soda any more
And Root Beer, and Ginger Beer
I AM OLD SKOOL
I assumed it would be like ginger beer. How wrong I was.
are old folk that remember it from their youth when getting an apple was still a big deal
but then I remembered I don't get a stocking any more. But I got a satsuma back when I did.
a guy at my table ordered a coke float and 7 people and the dealer knew what he meant and 2 people and the waitress had no idea. she was like "ugh" and then had it explained to her and then she went "you just want me to pour a glass of coke over your plate of ice cream" we said "ice creeam goes in a bowl, not on a plate" and then we explaind the ice cream actually, in this case, goes in the glass, and she said "fuck off" like, totally didn't believe it. tried to convince her for ages. she came back with a glass of coke and a bowl of ice cream and was absolutely astonished when the guy just plopped the ice cream into the coke. this was at about 7:30 am when we had been up all night. fucking boring story.
i had been up all night at the time so we all found it hilarious but god knows
and really really hot if that helps at all
but something about the way the ice-cream caps off the coke means that when sipped through a straw, there's a weird carbonation build-up that results in the coke foaming and going everywhere.
Three times I had coke floats as a child. Three times this happened.
and we got a straw and blew bubbles.
NO COKE FLOAT FIZZ.
dont really see the point tbh.
I've liked ice cream sodas/ floats since I was wee and try to go to Nardini's everytime I'm home. They used to do a cherryade float. Now I have to settle for limeade. When we were home last month, bf had a ginger beer float which was marginally even better than my limeade one and I had float envy. They are delicious! I love shoving the icecream to the bottom with the big spoon and then giving myself a frothy moustache with the foam that's produced. Never gets old for me.
Now cupcakes- they can bog off. Give me a fairy cake any day. But coke/soda floats can stay. I'm taking my godkids for floats on the beach this weekend <3
where can I get one in London?
but for some reason the ones in scotland taste better to me. they use traditional italian ices and they're yum. Meow, I was hoping to take you to nardini's when you were visiting in Jan, but we ran out of time on the saturday because of me and JB's misbehaviour etc. NEXT TIME!
I looked at the ice cream menu and I really want a banana split now
Remember: lemonade or cream soda only
I had a coke float last night actually.
I'm also a big fan of the cream soda floats that Byron Burger do.
he'd never heard of them. i only had one a handful of times but i really want one again now.
back in the 1980's? i dont think ive seen one or even seen one advertised on a menu since the 80's?
just realised i've made essentially the exact same reply in at least three of these threads. i'm wasting my life
