Temple Of Doom is on at the moment. The last one was rubbish. My favourite is The Last Crusade.
but Last crusade is great too. I don't like Temple of Doom that much, except the last bit is non stop brilliance.
I also don't mind Crystal Skull but I know I'm alone in that
apart from Crystal Skull which is a lot worse than Last Crusade
>Raiders>>Temple of Doom>>>Crystal Skull.
as i watched that one most as a kid
Literally, EVERY TIME they show the trilogy on tv
I watch all of Raiders
Miss Temple of Doom
Catch the second half of Last Crusade.
Every time. I've never filled in the gaps. Although I saw Crystal Skull. What rot.
By far the best cast (even with Sleepy LaBoeuf) and yet it's rubbish. Actually worse than rubbish, it's BORING
I thought it hopped along at decent pace and all. Shia Laboef is a legitimate crit but I didn't think it boring tbh. The army ants set piece is as good as any in Indiana Jones :|
That is what made the first 3 films so exciting.
Temple of Doom has too much of her screaming, hate that.
Crusade is almost the best. No ticket.
Crystal Fuck Bucket has Cate Blanchett in it but still manages to be very bad indeed.
1. Raiders, because it's one of the best films ever made.
2. then Temple of Doom, for the sheer bold lunacy of it all. They took all elements that made Raiders accessible and brilliant, and tried to turn them around. Intentionally annoying female lead screaming all the way through, possibly annoying sidekick who is the opposite of Sallah in every category, instead of comic book nazis, child slavery, human sacrifice, crazy cult ....
3. Last Crusade - basically a remake of Raiders, isn't it? in its basic structure. Too goofy in many ways.
4. Crystal Skull - lazy writing, incomprehensible plot and byzantine backstories for everything. come on, it's Indy 4: there is an object he needs to get, some baddies after it as well, various action sequences later Indy wins, but still fails to take the object home. It shouldn't be that complicated. Contrary to most of humanity, I think the fridge-nuking is fine.
Don't know why so many people got sand in their bumholes over it.
The whole 'inter-dimensional' rather than 'extra-terrestrial' thing though, pissed me the fuck off. Especially when I heard Lucas' reason for calling them that. What a knobhead.
Isn't by itself definitive proof of a lack of soul, but it's a tell tale sign.
I love all 3 though. I think Temple of Doom is my least favourite, but I still love it though. Maybe it was the lack of Nazi bad guys.
Shia Whatshisface ruined Crystal Skull for me.
I hate these guys!"
The others don't really seem like he is against anyone
Temple of Doom has a great opening and some good little set pieces but also has some of the most ridiculously audience-insulting stuff in it, combined with some very irritating characters.
Crystal Skull just never gets going: Doesn't plumb the depths of Temple of Doom but never has the fun stuff either.
