When the tourists come to London, I'm really embarrassed about the price they have to pay for a travel card.
when compared to virtually any other city in the world.
I came here for the free art/booze.
you get a free travelcard! Yessss!!!!
or whatever it is is *too* bad for a day's unlimited travel around London.
if you buy one in the morning (1-6)
though i can understand why tourists may want to go, say, Croydon. or Dagenham. or Ruislip. or Edmonton. or Yeading. or Edgware.
most of those places aren't in zone 6. You're mostly looking at even more obscure places like Hadley Wood, Hatch End, Theidon Bois and Epping. Commuter belt areas.
if you're going to be pedantic
it's so obscure, I don't even know how to spell it properly :)
when they press the button to open the tube door. Idiots.
or not from London
At about 99% of tube stops the doors open automatically. Although there is still a button to open them, you don't actually have to press it.
when I go back to the provinces I sometimes forget and stand there like a gormless member of the London Metropolitan Elite.
Worse when it's the old style doors when you have to roll the window down and lean out to open them from the outside, is it still the 1950's!?
