There was fuck all on telly last night and I ended up watching The Crystal Maze on Challenge TV. Probably the highlight of my life thus far.
But that show, Fort Boyard, Gamesmaster and Knightmare were big, epic TV shows, weren't they? Pointlessly HUGE sets, innovative games, mix of the ultra high tech... we've now got that BBC 1 show where they run around a big version of Fun House falling in some water and The Cube.
Is there just not enough revenue in telly anymore to justify these big budget shows?
I reckon a modern, big budget take on The Crystal Maze would probably be quite popular, wouldn't it?
