Sunday thread

Starmixer [Edit] [Delete] 58 replies 10:09, 17 June '12

Off to work, shaved my hair off last night, number 4 length. That saves me a bit of dosh. Pudding down here in Tynemouth. What adventures are you getting up to today?

  • Pissing not pudding. Fucking phone

  • Waiting for my girlfriend's father to piss off so I can start my Sunday properly

I've been up and dressed since 8.30 because of this. On a Sunday. Unheard of.

Lazy day otherwise. Potential highlight will be popping to Tesco for a Krispy Kreme. Or the life-affirming poo I did shortly after I got up. Could go either way.

    Epimer | 17 Jun '12, 10:43 | X
  • Got no committments today,

so just meeting a mate for a coffee- haven't seen him in quite a while and felt a bit bad about it.

    (sorry, such a dull post)

    _TheBeautifulOnes_ | 17 Jun '12, 10:44 | X
    • It's certainly not "might go to Tesco and did a poo" standard

      Epimer @_TheBeautifulOnes_ | 17 Jun '12, 10:44 | X
      • that's as exciting as my sundays ever get, to be fair

got dumped 2 days ago and it still feels horrible, and i think i might write him a letter this afternoon to say how i feel.
        that's a bit more interesting i think.

        _TheBeautifulOnes_ @Epimer | 17 Jun '12, 10:46 | X
        • I'm hardly a relationship expert

But I wouldn't recommend sending him the letter, if you choose to write it. Getting it down on paper might be cathartic, though.

I don't have any great insights to share and I'm sure you'll have heard it anyway, but: it feels rubbish now. It won't feel rubbish forever. It'll gradually feel a little less rubbish till you go for days without remembering how rubbish it feels, and then it's just a painful pang that you'll either occasionally remember or forget about entirely.

tl;dr chin up, it'll be alright.

          Epimer @_TheBeautifulOnes_ | 17 Jun '12, 10:52 | X
          • yeah, I know rationally it'll go away

i ate one though and it tasted shit, googled why and apparently a stnk bug must've gotten to it first and i wanted to die a little

    stink bugs

    jazz-ballet | 17 Jun '12, 11:01 | X

If my boss sees this as an excuse to talk to me for 6 hours straight I'm going to throw myself off the roof. Or just go to the toilet and cry.

Went to a mates wedding reception last night and it was a free bar, great night but very messy.
Would still be in bed but woken up by cramp in my leg. Trying to sort out a show for tonight but struggling, might just play the new FOTL 2.5 times.

i don't know why. i'm a bad person. gonna have a nap and then go for a beer with my dad. i had one of those spells where all music sounds absolutely brilliant this morning, it was awesome... listened to melvins&lustmord and then charalambides and harry pussy, my mind was absolutely killing it.
stupid council think i owe them 200 quid in overdue parking fines when i paid it the day i got the ticket, gonna be sooo sarcastic and withering when i phone them up with my receipt reference on monday. take that council.

  • going swimming later

and laying in the sun, trying to ignore the outcome of the greek election.

right now i'm just kind of like on the edge of being a tiny bit pissed off, but yer, whatever. just like flatmate shit. like the fact my flatmates boyfriend basically lives here (as in he is here every single night/morning/weekend) and it's come to the point where i am having to clean up after them if i want anything to be actually useable let alone actually clean (i.e. kitchen/bathroom). also the fact that this week she's basically been like "oh you're in" as in like hinting "can you go out because my boyfriend is here" and i'm like uh i live here? all this is a reasonably redundant whinge because i'm moving out in 12 days or something. but yeah, idk, it's just been going on for so long that it's wearing me down.

also fuck father's day, i sent a card but who knows if it got there on time and i'm just argh too scared to talk to my parents right now because my life is a mess.

    happy sunday everyone!

    • update: they just ate my cheese

think i'm gonna go out and forget about it.

      ghostpony @ghostpony | 17 Jun '12, 12:39 | X
      • definitely have them both fitted with concrete boots and chucked in the nearest river

they crossed a line with the cheese. don't you live on the continent or something? some nice rivers in Europe, you could make it into a nice day out.

        incandenza_ @ghostpony | 17 Jun '12, 12:51 | X
        • some nice cheese in europe too :D

          ghostpony @incandenza_ | 17 Jun '12, 12:59 | X
          • excellent!

you can buy some more and relax, safe in the knowledge that they won't be eating it all.

  • Can anyone recommend a good, cheap smartphone?

I'm so annoyed at myself for losing my iphone last night. It wasn't insured and I don't think I can afford a new one, but I don't want to go back to a phone that just rings and texts, I've got too used to having emails and twitter etc. A quick google suggests HTCs are the cheapest, are they any good?

    DaisyFlower | 17 Jun '12, 12:52 | X
    • Depends what you mean by "cheap", really

HTCs are certainly good but I'd buy a second hand Desire over something like the newer Wildfire S because the latter has such a small screen resolution.

Orange San Francisco (ZTE Blade) is around £100 new, £50 second hand. The hardware's not as good as an iPhone but it's good value.

      Epimer @DaisyFlower | 17 Jun '12, 13:30 | X
    • nokia lumia 710

by far. 99 quid from carphone warehouse and runs as well as some high-end phones too. Probably the best bargain out there

  • Just made this egg:

Cracked it into a bowl and mashed the yolk up with a fork. Grated cheese into and added black pepper. Put a tiny bit of oil into a frying pan and got it hot, added egg mixture. Cooked one side until a bit brown. Turned it over and did the same. Ate it on top of beans and bacon on toast. What type of egg's that? Like a fake omelette.
