Norton trial has expired
Thankyou very much, have a good evening
and seemed to be decently rated for a freebie when I researched years ago.
To be honest, I think most internet security is bunk. I've never had a computer virus despite years of using the internet, mostly without any anti-virus stuff at all. I'd never pay for it.*
* Unless I was a proper business or something obviously.
just to be safe, really
Had a mac for years, so I was a little worried a pc was gonna get riddled with viruses
Uninstall Norton before installing a replacement, obv.
Enjoy your evening also.
(Obviously not visiting heaps of clearly shady sites, and not downloading hunks of obviously dodgy shit like some kind of click-happy mouthbreather is the first protective step. I also have the browser set up to delete everything - all histories and cookies, etc - when it closes, so every new session is fresh, rather than just collecting all sorts of tracking crud as time goes by.)
just that without any decent anti virus theyre never picked up. People are using your computer for all sorts, trust me.
What do I care if there's no discernible effect on me? (genuine Q)
your personal details could be sold online. People could be using your computer for criminal activities. Of course you dont care until you get a knock at the door and find yourself arrested for child porn and all your bank accounts are empty.
My #2 option.
Take your pick, they all work brilliantly. The is absolutely no need for premium anti virus software this day & age, they just pray on the stupid [and businesses] but you don't need advance LAN security so yeah any of the above will work fine.
I also use Spybot - Search & Destroy for spyware stuff
for installing nag-ware. For that reason, I'd put avast above it.
