I went to Bath and got shat on at the weekend. What did you get up to?
I went to a house party on Saturday, got a bus home, then woke up at 3am in Walthamstow Central minus a wallet. Sunday was spent cancelling cards. Also saw Swedish girl for the first time in a few weeks, which was sweet.
This is my last week at work. Phoning it in doesn't do it justice.
Had a grand day out though. Went to the Holburne, had a roast, played mini golf, then went to Salamander, the Raven and Coeur de Lion. Would've been a great date if the girl I was with didn't have a boyfriend and be several leagues above me.
Shit, sorry to hear that about your wallet. At least you got home safely in the end. Have a good last week!
Spent Saturday in bed feeling rough. Sunday won the league in my first season with Derby - Got a team entirely of people from within 100 miles of the stadium now. Gonna get absolutely annihilated. Gonna watch England lose tonight and probably get beat up.
I didn't do much this weekend, mostly watched all the football and saw some friends. It went way too quickly.
Need to decide where to watch the England game today, there's hardly any English people in my office let alone football fans and I don't really wanna watch it on my own at home.
I finish at 17:30. Unfuckingbelievable. Just go to the pub on your own and join in with the conviviality. That's what I'm going to do.
except I'm trying to avoid booze (haven't had a drink in 2 weeks) and standing in a pub on my own drinking lemonade whilst France demolish us doesn't sound like fun
went to the pub
watched some films
got a burrito
watched the book stall on oxford road for a bit in exchange for my choice of free book (highlight)
Also drank some beer and watched football. And i cleaned the shower.
I just got a pretty awful email from a friend (<3) that I am going to reply to and then finish off some client requested information and eat my lunch.
Can't watch the football because I'm working at exactly the same time.
James Cordon beats Frank Langella, Philip Seymour Hoffman and James Earl Jones to win a Tony. What?
rest of weekend was footballgood though
It was lovely, although pretty stressful and expensive, I think overall the fun outweighed the irritations though.
I found out at last that I HAVE got the job I went for - I'll be handing in my notice later today (though no bosses are here - I'll just date the letter to today and that will be fine, right?). This is pretty awesome news, although the stress of transition and moving is already freaking me out. If anyone knows somewhere I can live in London (with uber easy access to London Bridge pls) then let me know.
Going to the States on Saturday, which will be amazing, but is also a source of stress at the moment.
Your life sounds pretty awesome at the moment.
I just have to get over my phobia of admin and start enjoying it!
Admin, obviously...but y'know, is it an awesome job?
On paper, the job is perfect for me - I'm scared I won't live up to it.
I just hate admin in my life - any sort of paperwork, official letters, dealing with adult stuff. So leaving a job and beginning another and moving houses is my actual idea of hell.
it is good.
enjoy the states. Ya bastard.
What mag is it?
also arrived home yesterday to find our new housemate watching tv while sat just wearing some sort of dinosaur costume. She's pretty cool.
it was the first time we'd played as an 8 piece, and I was a bit nervous because Bela Emerson was playing with us (who's played with Tim Exile and lots of other cool people). It was great though, and the weather held out for the day. Here's a picture if you're interested:
Saturday night I went to the Cowley Club to see my friend play, then to The Haunt where I danced to shit music and drank too much. Spent all day Sunday being a lazy bitch and watching horror films. It was a pretty brilliant weekend, although going to work today brought on pangs of anxiety.
I went to Stratford beer festival and completely broke myself. Then I wandered around the town on Sunday, ate a pasty and drove home.
Stratford is nice. Get the feeling it’s a bit boring to live there though.
Although the guitarist tried to duct tape a bottle of beer to my head for me to pour into his mouth. I politely declined. Yesterday watched about 8 hours of Parks and Recreation then the footy instead of preparing for my sign language exam tonight which means I'll probably have to do that instead of watching England. I'm a dope.
and made friends with a girl who was/is a bit of an anarchist type. lothian & borders police once tried to prosecute her for throwing a snowball at a policeman during a demonstration once but the judge dismissed the case for being a waste of time :D
grinding my teeth
Smoking is well rubbish and you'll feel better the longer you don't do it for.
I used to be on 30-40 a day and it is honestly shit and much nicer not smoking. Most cravings come in bursts distract yourself for that period of time you'll be reet. You gone cold Turkey?
wish i still had that alan carr book that worked(not permanently obvs)
It was nice. Bexhill is pretty boring though and it was really windy and fizzy drinks were super expensive (£1.40 for a can of coke!)
Did a bikram class with msmonipenni and it was TORTURE.
Then I cleaned the whole flat which took like 3 hours. Ugh.
I REALLY want to go to that. My friends went and met Chris & Cosey. Jealous.
I'm not into that stuff at all but I enjoyed/tollerated most of it. It was really nice as there was some heated light installation where 3 people performed so you could just sit and be warm and watch the lights which was really nice. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/198368_10151005408886068_1012644273_n.jpg
Chris & Cosey were alright. I had to wear earplugs though as some guy had loads of air horns and they were the loudest thing ever and they set my back ear off crackling so I was in a bit of pain towards the end. It was nice to be in that enviroment though.
I got really bored for the first half but it got really good in the second half. 7.5/10
Friday, went to two separate house parties, crawled in at 8am on saturday. My girlfriend's friend locked herself in the bathroom with one of my friends for about 3 hours around 3am. They came out soaking wet and covered in shame. Then she tried to hit on both me and my girlfriend on the way home. French girls are the best.
Saturday, got cooked Empanadas for lunch which killed my hangover. Discovered 'voguing' and was amazed. LOOK AT HOW THEY DROP TO THE FLOOR. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZStPj5ixc1Y
Sunday had the second best pho I've had in Paris with a friend. Gotta have the full works, tripe and all, if you're going pho.
Watched lots of football. Czech Republic-Russia and Italy-Spain were the pick of the bunch.
Oh and I spent lots of money ordering an iPod, new headphones, Sunn O))) tickets and other stuff.
I want to come.
I'd like to try these Pho places and go to the Pitchfork fest.
if it gets better I'll go, otherwise I'm plotting to go to the UK for Supersonic.
Possibly the worst weekend I've had in years, compounded by other issues. Never felt so sad. Got to the point where I basically spent Saturday night drinking whisky alone until I blacked out.
I'm feeling a little better now after that slightly immature blowout. I definitely needed it though. Friends have been amazing this past couple days too which has been a massive pick-me-up.
So sorry to hear about that fella :(
So throwing myself into my running after work tonight, and steering clear of booze for the next couple weeks too.
an unexpected Geordie pal always brightens up a day. You look great with your head shaved <3
sorry to hear that.
Don't panic, I'm back
When was it? I only got back from my jollies on Saturday afternoon so if it was before then, it was my infamous doppelganger.
I was running back to my house from the tram stop because I'd forgotten to leave my spare key out, and running because the tram was due in 3 minutes (I made it, natch.)
I very nearly shouted ANDYVINE! at you, but because I was in a rush I wouldn't have been able to explain myself and would've just ran away.
I was probably going so fast you didn't notice.
Shit just got real
I'm imagining that I saw you. I think you probably recognised me because I was actually wearing the same shirt as I am in my profile pic. And coz I was wiv a burd.
*Does face-off gesture*
incredible what it can do for you I think. I ended up in a tiny park I never knew existed. And was then shat on by a bird. But it was still worth it.
you two should probably hang out or something.
and I was hungover. Fucking awful day.
one day you gonna darn piece together a holistic jpeg that explains DiS
Why is Jason Bourne there?
Thank you <3
dont worry, i wont mention it again...
but I told her only dickheads went there.
it was FULL of germans.
would weekend again
It's a Hurricane Room, they've got about 8 branches across London, but my word do they have atmosphere. Sixteen full-size snooker tables AND they show live sport on big screens!
Dear The Salutation pub on King's Street, you serve lovely pub food but try fucking charging me £2.25 for a small lemonade again and I'm coming back with stinkbombs
I thought giving up booze for a while would save me money but loads of pubs charge more for lemonade than Wetherspoons do for beer
The maths literally blew my mind.
because the beer was on offer and the coke came in a glass bottle so was ludicrously expensive. I almost vomited with rage. What happened to the days when soft drinks were really cheap, I remember a scream pub in Reading used to give them out for free if you claimed to be the designated driver
Absolutely insane. I'd be horrified if a PINT of lemonade cost that much, let alone a 330cl glass half-full of ice
I made them hack into the till to reboot the order. Then I ordered some Crabbies instead. "If I'm gonna spend that much, might as well make it alcoholic." Surprisingly there was no piss in my food :D
Today I got headhunted. Who wants to touch me?
spent the morning trying to sort out health insurance and cleaning the fucking flat because no one else ever fucking does it, then obviously when i finished cleaning it my waste of space flatmate picks up the hoover and hoovers I'VE ALREADY DONE THAT THIS MORNING YOU FUCK WIT. so glad i'm moving out, jeez.
Gonna be the third house on three parallel streets I've moved to in three years.
Gonna have an equal amount of bathrooms and tenants. Can't wait.
Also, the garden's fucking massive.
I enjoyed your drumming face on Friday, well done :)
but that band is just stupid. going to make some real music soon
just found out one of my favourite people is visiting from sweden in july. so happy. she actually lights up the world. have a good day everyone.
it's alright though cos sport.
might go to bradford later or bake a cannelloni
Just trawled through that OK Cupid thread coz I was bored and expecting that with so many replies there must be something of interest in there. Nothing at all. Fucking bleak.
Technically still the weekend, as I'm not coming back till tomorrow. I have a really horrible cold which kind of wrecked my partying plans, but it meant I was able to have some quality family time instead, away from the temptation of The Dancing. Took the bf to Nardini's in Largs yesterday for ice-cream sodas. So very rock n roll.
And while I may not have been poo-ed on this weekend, I've been pissed on, copiously. 5 month old puppy gets excited when I hug her and sprays me. I also got a mouthful of her eardrops at one point, which was a low point. Not felt right since.
Made a rat coffin on Saturday
Watched catrace tune his snare drum and built a beer can pyramid with Moousee on Sunday
it was pretty awesome.
somehow they managed to turn the front wheel in time and their head brushed through a load of overhanging brambles and stuff and I said sorry. I apologised to them for having nearly ran me over.
