Dis - golden <3’s thread
The other day I was just getting home from work when, whilst walking up the path to the front door, I spotted a bee that seemed to be in some distress, crawling across the footpath, using one arm to drag itself along. On closer inspection I saw that there were ants swarming all around the poor bee, with probably about 15 ants on the bee itself.
My first instinct was to isolate the danger, so I looked around and found a small twig on the floor. I picked the twig up and then coaxed the bee to grab hold of it – which he did without too much prompting. Then I lifted the bee to an area of safety [the garden wall] and started to gingerly remove the ants one-by-one with the twig, and then squash them with my finger.....yes ANTS BAD.....BEE.....GOOD!
Once this operation was completed, and all of the ants were dead (or dying), I then lifted the bee to an area of safety where he could re-cooperate.
Unfortunately I think that the bee had been bitten so many times by the ants, that he probably would have died anyway, but at least he would have passed away without being ravaged by those horrid things.
Anyway: Post your golden hearts stories of good things that you’ve done to help things lately below
