smartphone advice for numpties...
i'm a bit of a technophone when it comes to phones. i've mainly always used old Nokias, not the 3310s, etc, but the smaller efforts. So long as they can make and receive calls and texts, that's always ticked the boxes for me. think i'm going to upgrade, though. i've never used an app, or whatever you virgins call them, so am starting pretty much from dot.
i have absolutely no desire to be an iPhone Wanker, or a Blackberry Wanker, so let's rule those out. i don't want to be one of these absolute teds who need 24/7 access to what vague relations say on Facebook, or what Alexa Chung's had for breakfast, but internet access on the move would occasionally be really handy. Spotify access would be smashing.
i don't want any kind of contract. i'm fully aware that they can sometimes prove very affordable, but my two experiences with contract mobiles have proved completely disastrous financially. have to be honest, though, i have absolutely no idea how internet access from PAYG phones works, what it costs, etc, etc. would be great if someone could explain that.
basically, i need a lightish, durable handset that i can buy second hand for, say, <£50, which will let me have basic, affordable internet access (good coverage, etc, etc).
i'm wi' Vodafone, btw, and would prefer to stay with them (unless other networks let you migrate your number for free).
thanks in advance, vegans.
