than facebook chat introducing the new 'seen' feature
Why can't I ^this original thread OPs?
I want to ^this this.
that's even worse. Other people have got it and i haven't. Pretty much discrimination.
Also, just make a group out of the people you would want to talk to on there and block everyone else. S'what i do, it's fine.
Thus utterly wiping out your ability to procrastinate/think things over and then pretend you've only just seen the message.
Public transport lol at the last line.
they've been on a pretty hot streak of shit baffling ideas since timeline haven't they
not sure i feel right knowing when they look at the message.
What about if you're away from your computer and you've still got Facebook open? Total nonsense.
can they see it on messages as well?
My shyness already makes Facebook conversations really awkward and terrifying in some circumstances, so this just adds a fatal explosion to injury.
Facebook becomes Myspace. It's going to happen isn't it.
they saw it and didn't comment :(
I forget that Facebook even has a chat feature sometimes. I never on it long enough for that to even occur to me. I am also perpetually offline.
But yeah, that's a bit... strange. Would be better as "Delivered" rather than "Seen". Odd choice... no IM system before had that feature.
Towards the end.
I'd hate to think my stalking days were over
- Facebook tells you what web page the addressee visited after reading your message, so you know exactly how they preferred to waste their time rather than reply to you
- Facebook tells you whether the addressee has replied to anyone else in the meantime so you know who they like more than you
- Facebook tells you the average reply time of the addressee so you can tell how exactly how important you are relative to the average
- Facebook tells you what an awful person you are
Facebook chat: the ITV phone-in competitions between programmes. »Oooh, maybe /this/ time it'll be worth my while... Nope. Oh well.«
i understand /this/ and *this* but not »this«
as the fact that now multiple people can invite you to the same event, even if you've already declined going.
the main feed keeps showing things my friends have a commented on people I dont knows stuff. So in theory I cant bitch about one friend to an unrelated friend anymore :(
WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME
I do like the fact Facebook chat actually works these days though. It wasn't long ago you couldn't have a 2 minute conversation if you wanted...
Stops you being paranoid that someone is ignoring you by making you aware that they just haven't seen it yet. Maybe it's soul crushing for all the rest of you because your friends all hate you.
Either that or there's too many people employed by Facebook and too many of them are getting their bad ideas taken seriously.
