Look at me speeding into the noughties.
Farewell, the noughties.
I don't want to. I also refuse to call them that stupid noughties thing. ZERONICALS!
What did people say the last time? 19 hundreds? What about now? I say now is the Tentatives. If it's something shit like the Teenies I'm going to barf
it's a niche phrase, I'm the only person to adopt it so far. It'll take off though
yes, no problem - I was thinking of setting up ratcam. They're getting really big now, and cheeky. Maybe I'll come into tinychat one night with them, they like the camera
I think I do it wrong though, mine's just a blog. Most people use it for gifs or random Pinterest-style shit.
Now I can't write a piece without coming up with a title first, but sometimes that's exactly the impetus I need to do it.
haven't done anything for aggggggggggggggeeeeeeeees
i liek yr review of the freud show!
for non-fandom stuff. It kind of weirds me out a bit.
And then I lose most of them because I post crap :(
I haven't posted in awhile (officially because I wanted to focus on different projects, unofficially I just got lazy) but I've got lots of new entries on the way.
but a winner
Not only am I getting lazier with the amount I post, the content right now is looking pretty abysmal. But yeah, don't let that put you off...
Loads of evil and minimal art, beat writers and lots of Tom Waits worship.
starting to use it more
Thank you for bringing Ward Roberts to my attention.
Esp this: http://www.wardrobertsphoto.com/files/gimgs/5_5minimum5.jpg
(wow, someone actually read my feeble rants and reblogs)
also came across this fella, via clickthroughs
who does what i kinda do/did(/will do again when i work out how to export posterous into tumblr, or just do it manually)
but he does it betterererer
also, via associated linkage, how marvellous is this photographer?:
stuff from the fine art:mothers and daughters section being reposted elsewhere was what made me search her name. all her other stuff that i've scoped so far is astonishingly brilliant.
kinda inverting what an installation can and can't be.
I found Ward Roberts on a tumblr called darksilenceinsuburbia which just posts internet artists. It's 93% shite but there's occasionally some really great stuff. He feels very darkly ethereal.
is linked and is lovely
+yeah, the way mundanity is cropped to produce just the right balance between familiarity and abstraction is the thing i like about david mcbride's stuff - the bright paint backdropped by blue sky stuff is what caught my eye at first, but i reckon the kerbs and road markings are maybe the better work. dunno. i'm drawn to street furniture in what i think is a similar way to the whole office stationery fetish thing - it's all about the incidental but indispensable facilitator between human and environment. or sutin.
how language is able to damage/also reflect the environment in which it's placed.
Going to interview/review some Irish bands soon I think, there isn't a whole lot of information relating to them on the internet. People just seem to post their songs.
