hi guys it's me back again, once more that time of the month. blah blah blah playhouse blah fun etc etc etc you know the drill, it never changes.
i quite frankly could not be more excited about this. it's gonna be something else.
here's the deal:
THIS SATURDAY (THE 12TH)
Playhouse returns after six sell-out months in a row with the usual mix of chart pop, RnB, hip-hop, post-punk, indiepop, synth-pop and alt. pop. Girls Aloud, Brand New, Kanye West, Artful Dodger, Talking Heads, Mis-Teeq, Annie, A Tribe Called Quest, Destiny's Child, Black Flag, The National, Annie... and more. Expect the unexpected.
For May we welcome kindred spirits Something Serious to the decks.
Born of four friends with a £25 pair of decks and a growing frustration at going to indie clubs that played Evil by Interpol three times a night, Something Serious ran for four years at The Phoenix, whilst spawning spin off nights Dammit! (pop punk and nu metal) and North American Scum (playing only songs by North American artists). Described by one independent punter as “Like a massive birthday party with your greatest friends and the best playlist ever” Something Serious prides itself on an euphoric mix of indie, pop, hip hop, electronica and The Boss, oh good LORD the Boss, taking it four legendary NYE parties including a sell out at The Luminaire and DJing at the world famous All Tomorrow Parties festival at Battles/Caribou/Les Sevy Fav curated event. As long time Playhouse admirers, we know they will bring the ruckus.
