I think mine are
Front crawl > Backstroke > Breaststroke > the other ones.
forgot to right click the red squiggly line
I was rush typing.
front crawl if you actually want to workout
I could breaststroke to France, if required
this is because my brother taught me to swim and he was a 9 year old boy so he was like 'fuck all that slow shit'. also front crawl is the best when you're in the pool cos it makes the old people really envy your youthful speed and that's all i want, the ENVY OF OLD PEOPLE.
coz it makes my legs feel weird, like a frog girl.
I bet froglet breaststrokes.
i used to be in galas and shit i was so good at it.
rubbish at every other form of swimming
I'm a smooth operator when in the water.
love front crawl - for me it's the one i'm most in tune with as i've done it the most. Great for really taking advantage of your lungs and giving you speed.
I'm shite at breast stroke (as in doing it properly, not what you see 99% of people in public pools do).
Butterfly I can manage maybe 8 lengths if i'm lucky, but i'm sure i look like a dying whale.
Backstroke is nice when you're getting tired/the pools not so busy.
I tend to swim before/after work (working in a pool) when there's no one there - much more fun.
I did an over night shift once to supervise workers as they fied stuff - went for a cheeky swim around 0300 in the ole olympic pool - i felt so badass.
swimming at night is fucking cool.
did anyone die?
Not seen a death, but I've rescued 3 people.
To get C_I_C to quote that
Butterfly for serious. Although I always feel a bit daft doing that when the pool is quite busy.
wish I could do the butterfly but never learned when I was 8 so now it's never going to happen.
I'll sort of try to do it, but only in a way that I can pretend that I wasn't really trying to do it if anyone starts looking at me. I just end up flailing about like an idiot yet not moving.
I've been doing breast stroke recently as I'm unfit and it seems the easiest to do without drowning me. Now I'm feeling that it's too easy and I need to take it to the next level so today I'm throwing in a few lengths of front crawl. Mix it up a bit.
I invented my own style last time of one backstroke, one side stroke, one front crawl and just spun round whilst going forward - looked well cool (probably not true).
Also - going swimming with a work colleague in your lunch break, that's normal huh?
I thought this thread said
but now my technique has gone to shit and I find it absolutely knackering. Anyone got any tips?
Can't stand swimmers who think back stroke is anything other than a wste of time. It just creates a traffic jam. Also, there is no excuse for doing butterfly in a public pool...where do you think you are, the Olympics?!
just daft. I always hit my head on the edge of the pool when I do it.
but the butterfly is fucking cool. just is.
I was suppose to go with a friend after work but she has bailed on me.
DO I BE BRAVE AND GO SOLO SWIMMING?!
Also I need a wee, this should be fun.
i entered a sort of swimming championships at a local leisure centre, as ya do. came up with what i thought was a foolproof plan - to do backstroke without the arms. had anticipated completing my four lengths like a bullet and jumping out of the pool to a fanfare. didn't really work out that way. by the time i'd finished my final length there was no-one else left in the pool, a couple of them had even made it up to the balcony, and loadsa hot chicks were laughing. 'fear not, you're a rebel, you're going against the grain, just stroll away into the showers like you're invincible' i thought, and it almost worked, but with barely two feet to go i slipped on my arse, to more laughs.
answer: not armless backstroke.
