another headphones thread

Tillance [Edit] [Delete] 15 replies 11:02, 28 April '12

(I'm really sorry)

I need a pair of closed back headphones for listening to TV programmes, around the £25 mark, that won't hurt my ears after 6 hours solid use.

I have koss porta pro at the moment and they're not very good for this job. I'm probably asking too much, aren't I?

Does anyone know if Beats by dre headphones are getting bigger?

Yesterday I saw someone walking along 'wearing' a pair of these things, and it looked like he had a pair of bright read saucepans strapped to the side of his head.

  • You're asking way too much

Otherwise I'd recommend some Allesandro MS-1's.

    • sennheiser hd202s will do the job though, right?

      • also, I want to use them tomorrow

I should just pay a but more and buy them from maplin?

      • sennheiser is always a good bet in my experience

        • Unless you're buying the HD 25's

Which KennyDope seems to swear by or a HD598's or up, Sennheiser will always give you a dark and veiled sound with next to no treble.

          • do I need treble for listening to family fortunes?

            Tillance @PenguinPants | 28 Apr '12, 13:20 | X
      • these will be fine for what you want them for

for comfort maybe look at a pair of AKG K77

  • From my experiance the only headphones that don't cause fatigue (at least as rapidly as other headphones)

are ones that ridiculously neutral and balanced, I don't think you'll get any for the price tag you're looking at which will be comfortable for a long time.

    Yesiamaduck | 28 Apr '12, 13:50 | X
    • But if you're whilling to spend an extra fiver

get the AKG k77, they're pretty comfortable and aren't nearly as fatiguing as other headphones in that price range

    • I used to have sennheiser px200s

I could use them for hours. I think koss porta pro are just really uncomfortable.

      • Yes those are good headphones, I would recommend them if you had an extra £20 - £30 to spend :)

        • if I could afford them again (first pair were a present)

I'd have bought them again instead of the koss. and now I wouldn't need to get a another pair fur work.

          • These are really good as well

            http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-RP-HTX7AE-R-Retro-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B004QN19UM/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1335615743&sr=8-7

the green ones are my fav but they're way out of budget, the red ones are just a lil over
