I spilt some liquid on my macbook a few weeks ago, it was doomed but the repair shop put all the data from it onto a portable hard drive. I've now got a HP laptop but I can't get the data off of it. It doesn't look like there is any data on it, but I've connected it to another mac and it's there.

Help?
