something that's flown under my radar, perhaps
or The Right Stuff maybe?
The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret? It's pretty ace.
Looking through my recently watched list is pretty embarrassing. Hackers, Sneakers, Videodrome, and Network are all pretty high up there. I think I have media angst.
Wallander (Scandinavian version)
It's Always Sunny in Philedelphia
15 Stories High
I had netflix and think I saw all I could possibly see, hadn't seen and enjoy within the 1 month trial
I have Lovefilm anyway but the streaming is pretty rubbish quality, so out of curiousity how does Netflix fare
a) on streaming quality
b) content available at the moment (and is it liable to get much better in the future?)
I'm not sure I can be bothered setting up a trial to find out for myself
In terms of content there is some good stuff but not enough of it. There is a pretty simple trick you can do with your DNS settings to get access to the US version though which has a lot more good content
it's pretty crap tbf. i'm going to cancel my subscription this month. these kind of things only really work if there is a huge and diverse volume of stuff that gets updated regularly, like spotify. all that netflix seems to have is a few american drama series, the entire power rangers back catalogue and a load of independently produced left leaning documentaries
the are better films on their on demand service, not as good tv mind, and you also get the DVD's as a bonus... Netflix worked really well in terms of performance but was pish in terms of content
Certainly we were given the option and it looked a lot better when we used it on the weekend to watch the first 20 minutes of a film about a US professor who quits her job to become a tour guide in Greece starring Alistair McGowern
the quality is great.
i have my apple tv set up for UK content and the wii set up for US content so i can access both. definitely recommend it.
just change your DNS settings. it's really easy. let me know if you want me to tell you how.
someone else has gotta watch this movie at some point
i don't see many updates in my few months. and the movies are mostly utter shite.
i've found plenty i wanted to watch on there. just browsing quickly i found the following ojn my first page recmmendations:
the office (us version)
The Lives of Others
Some Like It Hot
£4.50 for a sub-BD HD (very good quality but noticeably not top notch) rental of Tintin?
I'm amazed anyone would be stupid enough to pay that much.
now i am working my way through The Office (US)
I like it because it streams through my Wii to my shitty old TV, and the quality is excellent.
