Hello web forum users.
I'm going to Edinburgh this weekend. What fun things should I see and do?
No, but really.
Admittedly, Glasgow is superior in terms of quality of clubs, multi-arts spaces, art exhibitions, live music, shopping, etc but it /is/ unfortunately filled with weegies who are either aggressively friendly or aggresively aggresive.
Glasgow is also only about 45-50 mins away on the train.
Tings to do in the Burgh...
Multi-thread linking is go:
Use this site: www.theskinny.co.uk to see listings for what tings are on that might interest you.
Mary Queen's Close
the Ghost Tours
the queen's boat (maybe, i don't know if it's permanently parked here or not, i'm not really interested in the queen)
The Scottish Parliament
The Botanical Gardens
Arthur's Seat and the Salisbury Crags
Indoor paintball (off Leith Walk)
Indoor climbing (there's two Alien Rock climbing places, one in Ratho which is a bit out of the city, one in Leith)
Loads of pubs, quite a few exceptional places to eat (one of the linked threads goes on about those), a few smaller art galleries/potteries/etc dotted about that might have stuff on (check the skinny website).
the general behaviour of the majority of the population of the city right now involves sitting on the Meadows, filling the place with smoke from your barbecue then leaving all your rubbish in a heap somewhere near but not actually in the bins.
This will continue until it gets cold again. Fun.
