"Court of the owls" is pretty ace isn't it?
i wasn't convinced this kind of thing would work; the adding to the wayne's past etc., but it's actually really awesome. i loved the issue where he was stuck in the labyrinth. ohhh, and the hidden rooms in all those buildings across gotham was cool. and the art is EXCELLENT.
..I am destined to bankrupt myself buying all the crossover stuff.
It's my first voyage into monthly comics rather than trades. Whilst I'm pissed off at how easily I have been tricked into buying more than one book,it is excellent.
i buy loads at the moment, and i look at them all on my shelves and think how shit they look and how much i wished i'd waited for the trades. BUT i like reading stuff in installments i guess. i've actually been getting batman thru comixology, on my phone, and i really enjoy reading it that way. monthly comix will only exist digitally at some point in the nr future, i reckon.
even if it does clutter up the flat
six issues in. Tying four titles together (2 successful, 1 middling, 1 shit) is a clever marketing ploy, but fleeces the already strapped consumer base and in some cases I don't think it works at all.
The Swamp Thing/Animal Man/whatever the other two are is the only one I think works just now and that's because the links between ST and AM were seeded in the first couple of issues.
Same as with the last few big events, you can get through the story without all the extraneous crap. If you do have that OCD collectors side to deal with, buy what you can, download the rest using the DCP scanned packs.
I mean, really, who would normally buy Blackhawks or one of the other lower tier titles. There's a reason they're failing and having a tie in to one of the Superman or Batman titles won't change that much.
is going to work to be honest, although admittedly I don't know much about the links between non bat books.
