I wanna go somewhere I've never been. I'll just be gone for 4-5 days. I'm thinking maybe Barcelona. Any good?
..... would recommend.
Will check it out :)
I'd choose Barcelona over Madrid though.
I think I'll go to Milan, Berlin or Paris. Not sure which one.
is Moscow considered European?
Didn't really like it. It was alright, but found the people really unwelcoming. This may have been the fact that we were there midweek in October, or that we didn't find the right places to go.
Berliners have never been anything but really friendly in my experience
gf is from near there.
I much prefer it to Barcelona. For a major city it is a really nice size, you can walk round most of it. Really great city.
Gonna go read more about it
(although i realise this is probably a primavera reference)
They are only 2 hours from each other, by train.
Doesn't seem right to me.
I've still never been.
When I was about 10/11. Can't really remember much tho so I would love to go again
Last time I went it was -14 at one point.
FUCK IT I'M GOING INTER RAILING AGAIN
did it really well last time with the sleepers and stuff. ten day pass. leave london 11am arr, brussels 2pm. stay one night. start ten day railpass. where can I get a couchette to from brussels?
or berlin or istanbul!!!
try to check out Girona, a town about an hour away. It's the most beautiful city type place I've ever visited, but then again maybe I have low standards.
I'm deciding whether to go east of brussels ending up in istanbul or west and doing spain and portugal properly. probably going to be east..berlin, somewhere in poland, somewhere in czech, maybe bulgaria...
If you don't mind me asking?
I like that it's properly lived-in and decentralised. A lot of places in Poland have that kinda rebuilt toy town feel a bit. obvs parts of warsaw are reconstructed too but its just much more http://onthetopp.blogspot.co.uk/2009/12/vice-magazine-polish-edition.html
I'm going to Madrid then on to Porto. Can't wait
I'd like to go to Rome but I can't face going there when it's hot so I wouldn't recommend it for the summer.
If you haven't been to Berlin, go there.
I might go to Italy.
Go to a non-touristy rural part. They're the bestest.
it's hard to beat the Amalfi Coast. Absolutely stunning.
Very unfortunate day for the town
and ryanair have just started flights to there.
http://www.tedoo.eu/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Montenegro-Kotor-Bay-Perast-15s.jpg oof how's about that for scenic?
Or somewhere like Sienna or Bologna.
and go to Italy. Just wouldn't know which city to choose between tho
Never been, only done rural-y bits of Spain before. Pretty excited.
where we go on holiday?
This time its for university field work though - Gonna be spending 3 of the 7 days wandering around measuring aspects of the urban climate :/
Those who've been to these places - decent?
can confirm both are brilliant. Both in my top 5.
then getting the ferry to helsinki and then getting the train so st petersburg. SO EXCITED. tallinn looks beautiful.
the only challenge is to find someone who will come with me.
I'd go to Granada or Zadar, personally.
It's such a beautiful city, I highly recommend it.
They're 1000x better
Not a city.
