Nothing infuriates/amuses me more than my friend from Yorkshire claiming she speaks proper English because she is from England.
Nobody mangles the mother tongue more than the various counties within the UK.
I have no problem with English being so fluid and changeable, pisses all over the French with their stupid Academie Francaise or whatever it's called deciding what can and can't be added to the language.

the animated Dennis and Gnasher, the lovable rascal and his dog from popular British comic Beano, is made by channel 9 Australia.
Meanwhile, The Koala Brothers, the story of two koalas, brothers in fact, who fly an aeroplane in the Australian outback, is made by the BBC.
I mean- WOW. I think I love the concept but can see how the reality didn't quite match up....

So fucked up. My ex used to teach at a primary school about a minute's walk from there. Horrific.
Haven't seen it, but Jim Thompson wrote some absolutely fantastic pulp fiction. Every one a cracker, poor bastard died before he got any recognition however.
I think Grifters was based on a Jim Thompson novel too, and probably a couple of other films.
Some rapper did a song based on that novel back in the 90s.
