contemplating this for Beach House in May.
london sold out, bruv.
...got for it. Sounds like a mini adventure.
although depends on how far really, as often you might end up having to leave early to ensure you get home at a reasonable time.
I had to do this when I saw Rolo Tomassi supporting IWACs.
this is probably less of an issue.
Beach House aren't a band you should be travelling to another city to see.
Beach House are amazing live.
but I'll be living in London then.
you'll probably get my name wrong again anyway and I'll just be upset.
For Sufjan last year, booked a cheap hotel stayed overnight. Had a really great time, I'd definitely recommend it rather than not going. Surely there'll be other disers going you can meet up with.
I went to watch The Gaslight Anthem in Oxford on my own (I live in London). I had a fun day trip!
and even that wasn't that good. as much as you may like the music, i wouldn't recommend it.
Saw them support Grizzly Bear a couple of years ago and I enjoyed it a lot.
And drinking alone is good too. I have never gigged far from home before, maybe I should try it?
It's also okay to go to the cinema on your own and you should get those Sennheiser earphones that cost about £20.
Really surprised at the polarised reaction in this thread.
I did the same when Beach House played in the U.K a few years ago. I got lost finding the venue in Leeds. Going to gigs alone can be better. I travelled to Manchester alone to see the Real Estate gig last month and had a great time. I just got drunk with 3 foreign exchange students who started talking to me.
i'll be the one moping about and being a wet indie bellend. Oh, hang on...
