the same ones are £1 each in Sainos
I make the most of it and buy 4 tubs when it's on 2-for-1
Chocolate, caramel and praline in the freezer RIGHT NOW.
those fancy Innocent vegetable pot things
worth it for half price, not worth nearly 4 quid tho
and then I buy fuck loads.
cheese is fucking expensive, man.
Nobody has ever gone into a supermarket that hasn't had at least one of its cheddars on special. And obviously you just buy that one, and next time buy whichever other one's turn it is, and so on.
Ben and Jerry's
Doritos and dip
I buy an absolute fuckload of the above when they are on offer though
Especially twirl bites
Well I buy meat from the meat counter when it's not reduced but if I see some shin of beef or pork shoulder that is reduced by god am I going to buy that badboy
ONLY COS I WAS UNEMPLOYED. Not doing it any more
4 for £1.50 is not to be sniffed at.
although at what point in our lives did for tins of beans at £1.50 become a bargain? It's outrageous....
like Napolitana or whatever they're called. Are then any better than the unbranded version? No, not really.
Dunno what it is, but for a little while the home brand tinned tomatoes were made in the US. They were watery and shit.
Now I always check. They've always been made in Italy or Australia since so it's not been a problem.
I have no brand loyalty. When we run out, if it's on offer, in it goes
Sainsburys like a bogof on them
Even when on offer, they're still overpriced
Chicago Town frozen takeaway ones though, with the sauce in the crust. £4 is outrageous. Half price and I'm stocking up.
I think that's acceptable
they're £4 for 2. essentially £2 each, but you have to buy two. sorry to be a pedantic prick but this information might be important to some
I live with my gf and we would have a pizza each. So £2 each
those BOGOF deals are a fuckin con, tho. tiddly little pizza for £4...nah.
2 quid each is fair...but don't try to dupe us with this BOGOF bullshit.
incidentally, they had these in Morrisons today - reduced to £1.49. I bought 6 - not cos I'm a greedy cunt...cos I've got a big freezer
my supermarket run consists of whatever's on offer that day
Cassilerro Del Diablo
well aware that they have a cook book from which I could make the soups for a fraction of the price. They are tasty though.
down from £8.49 to £4.49? I'll have that, it must be good.
this wine was probably NEVER £8.49. not being a dick, man.
generally these prices are set (rrp) early doors and don't ever actually make it into the store.
so, that £8.49 bottle of wine will never be £8.49 on the shelf.
*stops, looks at poster's name*
Can't believe I'm arguing with this cat
which I have seen at the full price before and after.
Nobody would buy Echo Falls or Blossom Hill or some other shit for a tenner. Nobody.
struggling to bat away these two turkeys
Maybe 3 for £10. But never £10 each.
point I was/am trying to make......ALL the big chains market SOME of their goods at prices that never actually make it into the shops.
please try and understand this.
It's not the same as saying look at this bargain for £x (rrp £y)
If you say something has been *reduced* it has to have been sold the higher price stated.
seems we were perhaps both right. RESULT
"a clear breach of new laws designed to stop consumers being misled."
Also, that article is from 2008. Hopefully it's been stopped now.... as it's, ya know, illegal and that.
I'd neck half a bottole of it before going out. hock is like blue nun I think- quite sweet?
as an aside, Lidl are very good for wine..if you know what you're looking for. picked up a case of Cepa Lebrel 2009 (rioja) for £3.49 and bottle. very, very nice.
thought you'd appreciate this, being a fellow drunkard and all..
I ain't never going back. Not never.
fucking... off to Lidl's then.
But if I am going to buy a £4 bottle of wine anyway, I may as well get one which was *technically* more expensive at some point. It does tend to be better than all the other standard £4 ones.
currently 60p in Sainsbos
(I've missed out on this mornings ignore. Who's currently trendy to ignore?)
excellent work from lyserge.
When are we expecting TBO to come back?
lolololol i'm michael mcintyre
more than £5 for 2 boxes and kitty goes hungry
like grapes or blueberries or shit
2 packs of ham for 3 quid? yeah alright then
Just buy whatever type of biscuit they have on special offer, they're all good and you don't have a difficult decision to make
...all half price.
They had a run in the local supermarket of 50p per pack of jaffa cakes which lasted a month or so. I'd pop in on the way home from work and get some milk or fags and 10 packs of jaffa cakes. Eventually had to stop as I had a cupboard full of them.
because they were buy one get one free. Really top quality biscuits, like a nice chocolate chip biscuit but then half of it is just covered in chocolate like a chocolate digestive. Brilliant stuff
I've not bought them because I'll eat them all in one day. I fucking love Crinkle Crunch.
Buy at the end of the day - always massively reduced and only a couple of hours less-fresh. It's probably taken days to get to the shelves anyway, so no biggie.
Can I afford scallops and a crab for dinner? Yes I can!
& your house.... & your wife... I'll see you in court
Has anyone ever paid the RRP printed on the back or on the inside cover? Course they haven't.....
buy 15-20 at a time. £35-40
and it cost me 9.99, I was in shock as normally I get all my books second hand or from Amazon. This is why it is so hard to support local book shops I guess...
If not, I will. (for comic effect). HA. Gotcha!
I swear they never sell out because 80% of the target market are holding out for a chalet to drop out, become desperate & shift their tickets last minute half price... I've done it a few times as have a lot of people I know
like coke and that - i stay away from the filthy stuff unless it is cheap like last week - £1 for 2l :D
50p in Tezzers.
you know like sweet chilli,
