today is a magnificent day. went jamming last night with good guys. going for a curry tonight with my absolute bezzie. weekend is approaching and looking solid as well (hopefully sleighbells doesn't get cancelled)

I'm in a pretty good mood though, it's March, which means the weather will be getting awesome soon; and I'm looking forward to do a bit of the Ale Trail at the weekend. Oh, and planning my Malaysia trip :D

You could get a train there from Manchester with a folk band playing on the actual train. Sounds amazing.

I still feel all sore from my bike accident. There's also loads of police about cause this dude was found almost beaten to death and found in the park and they haven't been able to identify him yet and they reckon he's a teenager.

I have yet to received an automated message from (I think) ticketweb.
This is the thing.
I got a recorded phone message for doors set to be opening an hour later than planned (big deal!).
But no message, not even an email, ffs, about the cancellation. Other than missing them, it was no biggie cos the venue was local to me, but the (now missing) fb message apparently went up 20 hours before the gig was due to open it's doors.
Something about ticket agencies and their service charges.
So, yeah, check before heading out if you can.

In my experience it's difficult for them to let you know about cancellations on the night, they usually only get informed by the promoters (if at all) really late on, like 5 oclock ish, by which time the shifts are changing so there's not as many staff on and it tends to get busy on the phones at 5. And it takes a good hour to set up one of those automated messages. It's shit but there you go.

Had home made burgers (needed more seasoning) and watched football (needed more goals) last night, both were....quite good.
As I was about to open the garage door this morning, something hit me it the head. Kinda felt like having a football kicked at it from short range, knocked me back a step or two, and took a second to get my bearings again, looked around, couldn't see anything, I reckon it must have been a bird flying out of the hedge. Then, on my bike going into work some **** was **** in his**** *** **** * so I said why don't you ***** ** go **** your ****** up **** *** until *** drops **** *** with * ***** **** then eat it. (Roughly translates as, some idiot was reversing out of his parking space, not looking, so didn't see me, or the fact that I had right of way, and VERY nearly reversed into me. Wasn't going so fast that I would have been particularly badly injured, but would have certainly knocked me off my bike. I can only described what then spewed forth from my mouth as a torrent of abuse, think I may have given some people in the houses down there a literal rude awakening.)

I'm so fed up of bread. Why don't the co-op throw out vegetables please I'm starting to feel like the unhealthiest person in the world.
I felt a bit like I was going back to my lowest point yesterday. I've kind of stopped before I've got got quite that far but I'm not far off :(
Going to keep busy applying for jobs and getting an article done.
If I get this job
and I come to Manchester next week, I want to take you food shopping.
Then we can run around a park somewhere like Phoebe does in friends. Doing that always makes me happy.

You could always go round the local veggie shops and ask them for anything that's due to get chucked. They might offer you knock down prices if they're not going to give you them for nowt.

me and my housemate got two giant turkeys, like 10 pizzas, hundreds of sausage rolls, chips, ice cream...tons of good frozen stuff when they were renovating the shop and threw out everything!
That's brilliant. A bit sickening that it's all just being chucked though.
A couple of my mates run bakeries/patisseries in Edinburgh and they aren't even allowed to give away stuff left at the end of the day.
They've offered loads of stuff to homeless charities/soup kitchen kinds of things and been given the knock back as it's against health and safety blahdeblah. It's mental. The stuffs not even a day old.

I've picked things up in the shop before and when I've got to the till they've taken it off me because it should have been thrown away that day. Why can't there just be a law that allows them to give it away but that you can't be a douche and sue if you throw up. Especially when it was stuff that was just being thrown away cos they couldn't be bothered to store it elsewhere whilst the shop was being refitted, that was ridiculous!
Stuff like fish and meat I can understand
(there's some stuff I've seen on the shelves within date I wouldn't buy) but bread and veg, stuff like that, especially in supermarkets where bread is done same day (or within a couple of days) and veg has been refridgerated so lasts a bit longer, doesn't make sense.

Surprisingly in a good mood though. Borderline sociopathic level of nonchalance.
The stuff that set me off on Tuesday lunchtime has had some significant impact yesterday, fallout still occuring, off-hand mention made of 'scapegoats' in a meeting this morning which resulted in a swiftly organised meeting afterwards with my main boss telling me that it won't be me up against the wall (although, it is highly likely that in a 'scapegoat' situation it /will/ be me), loads of boring project stuff and the exposure reporting data scrape will fill my afternoon.
Yet still, my mood is positive and balanced.
I had begun to plan my revenge the second after the initial mention of scapegoating and it would have been glorious. G to the LORIOUS!
I was watching one of the workies on the site next door using a rivet gun and was wondering what kind of range those things have. Couldn't find ANYTHING about that online. Anyone used one in a 'recreational'/'dangerously stupid' context?

A bit disappointed in there being no range. I thought it'd be a bit like the nailguns in Lethal Weapon 2.
nah, the rivet is different. the gun just squeezes the cap together to seal whatever is being rivetted
and the rest of the thing just falls back inside the gun. HOWEVER, you know at school when people used to unfold paperclips and fire them around with elastic bands? you can start to get a rivet involved in that with good results because they are a bit better weighted than a paper clip. you have to fashion a bit of a wider tip for it though.
