Films you have seen recently thread
Chronicle: Quite good, but flawed. Nice to see a slightly different view of what would happen if someone did get superpowers. I liked it. Recommended.
Father's Day: Gonzo Horror from Troma Studios. Very odd, very entertaining. Quite a bit of gore, a bit of tit, doesn't take itself at all seriously. I liked this a lot. Highly recommended.
Fast and Furious 5: which I watched again and it's brilliant. To be added to the list of pure pleasure action movies alongside the likes of Con Air and Bad Boys 2.
The Grey: well. it's not like what the adverts say its going to be. it has more in common with alive or buried or some other character centred survival drama than BIG LIAM KNIVES SOME WOLVES IN THE FACE FOR 90 MINUTES that the trailer would have you believe. Still worth watching, just not for the reasons you might want to watch it.
Recently I failed at watching the following films until the end for various reasons;
The girl with the dragon tattoo (fell asleep, will have another attempt), the Sitter (adventures in babysitting with more drugs references, yawn),
the Haunters (unexpected visitor, looked good, will rewatch this weekend),
extremely loud and incredibly close (lost interest after 15 minutes, watched F&F5).
