It's time to talk about your problem.
had a great theme song.
good song, bad show
Shawnee Smith was pretty hot though. Bar scenes were atrocious.
should've guessed. This whole exchange makes a lot more sense now. Apologies for the "fuck off" bit.
Series 5 was terrible and 6 wasn't great, but 1-4 had some really good stuff. And 7 is picking up again.
but one of the worst ever? No chance
but i don't get why it's so well loved by all types of people. it's your standard smug 30 somethings sitcom.
I cannot fathom it's existence let alone it's popularity.
COS SHE'S FAT INNIT!
Some indie dickhead this'd this
The Sheldon and Penny's Tits Show.
other currently available sitcoms
they remove every other element. Especially the really creepy Jewsih guy who makes my skin crawl. CRAWL.
so she goes to an awful lot of comedy gigs, and this joker is her favourite comedian. I despair!
Jessica Hynes that was actually depression causingly bad.
According to the wiki entry "Hynes considered the series so bad that she left her agent for convincing her to do it."
was the name...
i think it's a solid sitcom that gets unfairly lumped in with all the other shit
my two biggest complaints of it though: ray's brother is fucking stupid and annoying. the audience does that thing where they laugh far too much at one moment that's supposed to be "hilarious" and it's just like shut the fuck up.
but honestly i think it can be quite witty and ray is really likable.
it was the uk version of That 70s Show on ITV. I think it was worse than Hardware. Hardware is second though!
took until this far down in the thread for this to appear, utter bollocks tv.
King of SHITE more like
King of Queens is hilarious.
I swear I'm not making it up, it was horrific.
that was fucking diabolical
I was confused if it was Meera Syal, it was until they changed it to Nina Wadia. I knew it was someone from Goodness Gracious Me. Turns out it was both!
that was woeful.
where he played the dad. bald guy. i saw it once and it was fucking atrocious. help me out here guys.
It was on ITV and has Ade Edmonson iirc. Yes, it was awful.
From The Young Ones and Bottom?
Are you talking about Teenage Kicks? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Kicks_(TV_series)
nice work guys
i've never watched a full episode tbf
a wonderful Charlie Brooker write-up about that, he was absolutely enthralled by how much of a car crash it was, it deserves repeat viewing in my opinion.
no, the real horrors are:
HYPERDRIVE - I cannot contain my hatred for this
2012 - that woefully SHIT olmypic planning one
Goodnight Sweetheart - dull time travelling shagger exploits
Would like to register support for Two Pints, the Reggie Perrin remake and (begrudgingly) Miranda, It's not as hateful as I thought it would be even though she looks like a sea elephant.
and bland, it was just exquisitely pitched. The only time I've ever wanted a sitcom to be boring. The sheer banality is the whole point.
Hippies is so bad though.
the original obviously! Probably because it's more light weight and the original (to me) is a bit awkward and heavy going. Probably Leonard Rossiter's beard in the second series though. :D
there's little better than the original.
Twenty Twelve was/is great.
dammit! I sat through two episodes, the second one was just to make sure it was the worst thing ever, and it was.
Twenty Twelve is guilty as it was not-as-funny-as-it-should-have-been, given the talent involved. I felt embarrased for those in it.
It was also about the only sitcom on the BBC in the 00s that wasn't about perils of dating and houseshares.
you expect 'All About Me' to be a horror show, but Hyperdrive was all, like, 'Nick Frost, Kevin Eldon and the curly-haired chap from Green Wing spoof StarTrek', and then it's all 'oh, and also Miranda Richardson. and everyone else steps down to her level, and it's just so bad, y'know?'.
they should have called it 'Ooh, I'm All Flustered In Space' to avoid confusion.
whoops, how loveably clumsy and flustered of me!
whoops. how loveably clumsy and flustered of me!
I can't do anything right.
brb, gonna write a sitcom about this.
but only because I agreed with him and then I felt like a twat.
The first couple of seasons were funny and very sweet.
The musical episode and the one where Gaz gets fat then wanks himself thin are the pinnacles of what a sitcom can truly achieve.
Sheridan Smith has wonderful norks
but it was watchable and i averaged a couple of laughs an episode.
literally the worst tv show I have ever seen
This was bad beyond all comprehension.
Bit of a dick.
I have watched an episode or two on youtube recently just to check.
that was set in a school and was a horrifically awful rip off of the inbetweeners? Charlie Brooker did a thing about it on screenwipe
it was far, far worse
:( :( :( :( :(
But then film them in really high quality.
So as well as being terminally unfunny it looks SHITE
it's meant to be hilarious, right?
i've done it again
There are shows like Work It that exist.
Chris Barrie in it as a.. scouse footballer? by Christ it was awful. anyone know what i'm talking about? that Brittas thing he was in was bloody terrible too but not as bad as scouser-football thing.
yeah that was dreadful
the first Ricky Gervais sitcom when I felt more embarrassed for Ricky Gervais than the characters they were playing.
Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston.
They both sang the theme song.
But there were some utterly fuck-awful sitcomes on Welsh BBC2 back when I was in Cardiff. One was called High Hopes, the other was like a Welsh version of the Royle Family. I forget the name. Shocking.
Also niche, but there was a comedy show on CBBC called 'Out of Tune' when I was a teenager (or possibly younger) about a children's choir in a chuch. It had canned laughter of children finding the impossibly lame jokes amusing.
though I remember it being an average kids show made really annoying by the laughter track.
