Will I like it?
and I HATE westerns.
a western for me has cowboys AND indians. It's a film, set in the wild west.
that excludes True Grit.
Now I'm confused, this thread hasn't helped at all.
they are fantastic
I know I'm banging on about this but a western movie for me is a style ting. not just a film set in America, pre 1900's. a good example of this would be 'Way of the Gun' this, for me, is a western. cheers
Which, on the one hand, means you're right about it not "just" being that. But on the other, your idea that it has to have cowboys and indians means that you're discounting the Dollars trilogy, Butch & Sundance, Once Upon A Time In The West, High Noon, and hundreds more that mean you are not only wrong but also batshit mental. Ta.
it is a western. it is also brilliant.
Definitely one of the lesser Coens though.
and I was really disappointed by A Serious Man, though I know most people liked it. I quite liked The Ladykillers tbh. Never seen the original though tbf.
Nothing happens, but that nothing happens really well.
Their version of The Ladykillers is also great, despite having Tom Hanks in.
he's been in some good stuff. apart from that new one, which looks utter faff.
Love stuff like Big, The Burbs etc
i also like comedy/serious tom hanks (saving private ryan).
serious tom hanks is quite shit though. but i did enjoy road to perdition.
