165/196 in the world
still pretty shocking.
Mind went blank for the majority of the African countries
I think I spend too long remembering how to spell Liechtenstein.
that would be brilliant.
I used to be able to get them all but I haven't done it in about a year.
Doesn't even say all of them though.
Belgium and Denmark were the only big misses. Always forget at least one Guinea and at least one -Stan.
should have been a lot more.
OFF WE GO
i got to 112 with 5 minutes to go but hit a keyboard shortcut and it skipped me to the previous page :'(
i know where they are too
I dont think i would get more than 2/3s of their capitals though.
I know all the US states and their capitals though
.....the one that i am most unsure on is what was known as Spanish and then Western Sahara.....now there was a mooted new title along the lines of 'the peoples republic of southern sahal' but i dont know if they have settled on a different name yet
is what you're thinking of, but it won't be on that sporcle quiz because it just counts member states of the UN (and so also misses out Palestine, Nagorno-Karabakh, Somaliland, etc). That said, from what I remember, it does count Kosovo and Taiwan, so actually I'm not sure of the definition it uses...
and the territory formally known as western sahara (although m auritania has gobbled up some of that
i used to be able to name all the countries and match them to their flags when i was 9/10, but then this guy did it on Cilla Black's the moment of truth and i realised it was probably a bit nerdy.
Happy with that - missed a couple of obvious ones and couldn't spell a few (or rather I'm SURE I could but Sporcle refused to recognise them).
- West Africa
- Central America/Carribean
- Pacific Islands
My Caribbean knowledge let me down.
Embarrassingly forgot Ireland..
always forget one of the Australasian islands. Or South Sudan.
forgot Italy and Greece
theres something about Laos i like. Guam too.
Central America and West Africa always do for me. Dem. Rep. of Congo, fuck you.
done about 10 quizzes today.
I just re did the world one and scored 130 though, because I did each continent quiz a couple of times so I really remembered them
First go. Missed some obvious ones e.g. Switzerland yet somehow managed to remember St Kitts and Nevis.
I got bored
I am disappoint.
Fuck you, Roscommon.
which is nice
you eat it....
also 50/50 states and 50/50 state capitals
can you eat that?
You can't just SAY you know them all.
would thant constitute proof.....anyway im sure I would have problems with the answers strict spelling criteria
I used to do this a lot at work, though I preferred doing it continent-by-continent (pretty sure I could still get them all that way). Partly because you only have to concentrate on one continent at a time, so if you miss one you don't have to scour the world in your mind, and partly because the map is then big enough to see where you've missed. Means you actually learn where the places are that way.
Realised with 25 seconds to go that I'd missed the Baltic states, that would've been embarrassing. Otherwise I cleared up Europe, Africa, and all the obscure islands, and just missed some obvious ones like Kuwait, Jordan, Vietnam, Costa Rica and Ecuador. Oh dear.
so it really is a good way of learning.
Either way, I missed about 10 each time. This is where my ignorance of the South screws me over - who's ever even heard of Bedfordshire, or Middlesex? Nobody.
