I think a few mentioned seeing it on here, so what are your thoughts?
Overall I thought it was slightly inferior to Election and Sideways. I kinda agree with a lot of Bradshaw's review in the Guardian about it being less abrasive and less overtly humorous, and it suffers because of that. Three stars is too low for me though, a solid 4 stars. It might be less funny but the mid life crisis poignance is still there. Probably one of the best roles I've seen Clooney in, and his oldest daughter is as excellent as everyone says. Some very pleasant folky Hawaiian music as well.
Has anyone seen Citizen Ruth? Think it was his first film, it's very good. It's a satirical comedy about the abortion issue in the US, stars Laura Dern.
Thoughts on him as a filmmaker?
