Which country shares a border with the most other countries?
BONUS POINT: Name those countries.
Poland and Norway.
...depending on how strict you are with The Bering Strait.
I think i'm wrong with some of those actually. Lithuania should be there and Uzbekistan is wrong.
do eithe of those border it?
also is armenia buffered from russia?
Kazakhstan is actually the only central asian former republic to border Russia.
I think it's DRC
Italy Slovakia Austria Germany Poland
Afghanistan, Bhutan, Kazakhstan, North Korea, India, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Burma, Nepal, Russia, Tajikistan, and Vietnam
Russia sort of borders the same amount but a couple of them only border Kaliningrad, which will technically a part of Russia is a landlocked separate area on the other side of Lithuania so I don't like to count it.
That, or maybe Russia as someone else has says.
I was too slow, and made a typing error. Good work.
Russia, Mongolia, North Korea, India, Bhutan, Nepal, Burma, Pakistan, Vietnam and probably some others too.
are we counting stores that changed to Books-A-Million and Barnes and Noble or separately? I'd say USA either way
It'll probably end up being some tiny European country, though.
Now try this for fun: http://www.sporcle.com/games/sproutcm/BorderCracker
I did it too, giving the first letter makes it ridiculously easy.
might have to cheat (or someone could tell me)
but Sporcle generally counts Central America & the Caribbean as being in "North America". Always gets loads of Americans* irate in the comments sections because it's not what they were taught at school. Which is a plus.
*People from the US. I'm not calling them USians. Because I'm not a dick.
USian is cromulent.
(there may actually be two, I'm trying to remember this question as i go along)
the one i was thinking of is the answer to the question, not the one you were thinking of. Thatz the rulez
another clue: double landlocked means all the countries that border it are also landlocked.
GOOGLE IS CHEATING
are both double-landlocked. (That is, if a country having a coastline on a lake rather than a sea is considered landlocked.)
It's Uzbekistan. Borders Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and one to the east although I can't remember if it's Kyrgyzstan or Tajikistan. Possibly both, on thinking about it.
It's both. But also Afghanistan.
that was exciting for everyone.
I genuinely find geography exciting
One day someone will stop me in the street and ask me to name the capitals of all the countries that border Uganda, or something, and then give me £1,000,000 when I get it right and it'll be ace.
One of the Stans, anyway.
