So I just won £100 in a writing competition at work
Writing is part of a lot people's everyday job here, including mine. We were given a really dry peice of information on a new housing development and had to write a letter to the local community about it.
I'm not surprised I won - I do this kind of stuff almost everyday and I know I can do it well, and I suspect that very few people entered.
Now I've got to have my photo taken for the intranet and give a presentation at the next staff meeting about what it takes to write good copy.
So in short, the £100 isn't a prize, its just scant pay for some extra and highly embarrasing work I'm now going to have to do.
