just pondering a visit to the local Manchester Odeon enormodome.
It looks good, I think.
Not bad at all. Preferred it to the Swedish version. A very handsomely made film.
but no more. craig is fairly flat but he is good for the role. Lisbeth is played wonderfully, and they are great in scene together.
i love the books, and know them well. would be interested to hear what people who hadn't read them thought.
It's really well done and Rooney Mara is better cast in the role than Noomi Rapace was in the earlier film/TV version.
The problem arises from this being a 'sacred text' which cannot be altered. There are whole story strands, particularly at the end, which are unnecessary in terms of the central story and which could have been happily excised to get the film down to about two hours.
thought it was pretty average. Looks nice enough, and the acting etc is all fine, I'd just forgotten how mediocre the book was. The characters are all a bit 'cartoony'. Doesn't really compare to Fincher's other serial killer films. Also, it has the worst opening title sequence I've seen in a very very very very very long time.
Rest of the film felt a little dull after it though. Lisbeth is pretty interesting, the actual solving of crimes and shit is less so.
