Is he always this boring?

THAT'S THE POINT.
with "LOTS" of channels
but it came across as something I'd like on that Imagine documentary. I do love a good dose of self-deprecation
Then it's genuinely one of the best stand-up sets I've ever seen. Personal, intelligent, engaging, and really funny.
I thought he was really good, I vaguely remember part of his act being about Converse and sweatshops; can't remember why it was funny but it was
I thought he was fucking funny!
Haven't watched it yet. He seems to polarise opinion, but I like him. What little I've seen of his stand up has made me laugh. I'd certainly much rather watch him than 90% of other stand ups.
or possibly even Truck 9, but he didn't turn up.
I watched it last night, quite liked it.
Laughed loads, doesn't hurt that I am basically in love with him
I'm watching this on iPlayer right now. he's so much funnier and compelling than I previously thought. a little like Dylan Moran in the way he finds humour in the silliness (absurdity) of certain things, the greater context he frames odd social topics with, from the perspective of an awkward & outsiderish person.
it starts off a little shakey, feels like a tesco value daniel kitson - but then the final 25 minutes are wonderful. he manages to talk about a seemingly wishy-washy self-help book type of philosophy in incredibly sensible and affecting terms.
Clearly a chalk and cheese performer. I suppose it depends on whether you find him ingratiating or not. To me, it just seems very basic, gentle and pleasant without actually being at all funny. He's effectively just saying "Like me, I'm cute."
Nice work if you can get it.
