Sorry for the delay, it turns out I DO have a life outside of making these threads, but the fact that no one made one in my place I guess is testament to the quality I've maintained. As I said before, TOO MUCH PRESSURE.
Anyway, here we go, make or break week for a few teams:
NFL network must be kicking themselves about their selection for Thursday Night Football this week, but that said, does anyone remember Christmas Day last year when two completely dead teams (Dallas @ Arizona) had a total hum-dinger on the NFL Network. So, what we have is two teams playing for pride with no pressure (don't lie to yourself Philly fans) one trying to salvage a complete train wreck of a season and another who have shown moments of promise but ultimately need a new QB before they're going anywhere (Manning? McNabb?). So, although this will have no baring on the playoffs, this should still be a fun game. (And just for fun (cuz i like Seattle), I'm going to give the win to the 12th man the win by 7)
So big games for Sunday:
The early's are hardly inspired, but Atlanta visiting Houston should be very interesting, given they both are concerned with their respective playoff hopes and whether Houston's defence will be able to handle the extra play time their lack of QB will produce. Unfortunately for Houston, I feel this one might be a little out of their reach now, but I hope they prove me wrong (Atlanta by 4-5)
Elsewhere, Cincy travel to Heinz field to try and save their season from freefall. They've proved they can play with the best, but playing does not always mean winning, and if they don't get this one done then its going to be very difficult for them. (Pittsburgh, 4-5)
Otherwise, the rest will probably all be fairly one sided affairs, Jets and Skins should be fun given their respective failings (go Skins, by 3)
Tennessee beat Buffalo by 4-5
Chicago beat Kansas by 7
Oakland beat Miami by 3 (this will be real close)
Denver beat Minnie by 3 (another Tebow miracle, sigh)
Indie beat New En.... HAH NAW NE by like 50+
Carolina beat Tampa by 5
Later games have some crackers:
Game of the week is Easily the Packers at the Giants, who despite their humiliation at the Superdome will be vying for revenge and to get back into the playoff picture. This for many will be the key game for the Pack, if they can get through this (which they definitely can) then there is absolutely no reason why they can't finish undefeated. But despite the recent game, the Giants will give them a real go in front of their home fans, and chances are this will be the shoot-out monday night should have been. Unfortunately, you can't argue with form, Pack by 7.
Also crucial is Baltimore's visit to Cleveland. If the Ravens get through this they are more or less into the playoffs, along with quieting the critics of their inconsistencies. It won't be as easy as that, Cleveland have a great pass defence and HATE losing to us, particularly in Ohio, but their poor run defence vs. Ray Rice should be all we need to see us through (I hope so, because I wanna watch the Pack/Giants game) Ravens by 7
also we have
Dallas @ Arizona, should be fairly standard for the 'Boys, unlike the completely mental Christmas Day game last year, as long as they can keep Beanie Wells and Patrick Peterson quiet (high scorer then, this one). by 7 'boys
St. Louis @ San Fran, also should be a straightforward one for the Niners +7
SNF sees a surprisingly interesting Lions/Saints matchup, which will be a real test of nerve for if the Lions are for real. Suh may well have cost the Lions their season with his stupidity, as the one thing the Saints struggle at (as St. Louis showed) is QB pressure, something they're going to really miss without him. Lions should be competitive, but the Saints will yet again have too much, by 7.
MNF sees a slightly damp affair between San Diego @ the presumably doom Jacksonville, hopefully this will be the kind matchup the Bolts need to get back into a season that is still, somehow, not out of their reach, but the way they're playing, I can see MJD running all over them. Charge by 3.
So whats going on in your worlds?
