Has anyone used Glasses Direct to buy their glasses? Are they Any Good? Optician lady says I need new specs.
They are very good. Can't fault them. Soooo much better than those Specsavers/Vision Express etc rip-off merchants. Make sure to upgrade to one of the better lens packages as the basic ones are a bit rubbish and reflecty. Think it's only an extra £10.
I got Hilfiger frames with silver package lenses for £99 including a free pair which are now my main pair after I lost the Hilfigers. They're ok.
i used them. they were very good.
i also used glasses2you once. not very good. shite. avoid.
No problems with either but Glasses Direct were better. Exept the arms on my current specs are a bit too long so sometimes when I shake my fringe out of eye they fall off and I end up looking like a mega-indie dweeb
They came about a week after I ordered them, I think.
The tricky part is deciding whether you'll like the frames you're ordering without actually seeing them on your face.
and then you get that £5 off if you order. Dunno if Lensway has the same deal, I haven't looked at it.
I got a deal from Groupon as well as a special offer that Glasses Direct were running at the same time so I ended up getting a pair of glasses and prescription sunglasses for about £30
and got a really nice pair of Persol glasses http://www.specsuperstore.com/products/designer_glasses/persol They were kind of expensive, but a good £100-£150 cheaper than I'd seen them anywhere else, and I was sick of scrounging around the lower reaches of the Specsavers discount range. I figure if I have to wear something all day every day, I may as well actually like them. If you're going to order from any online retailer, make sure your optician gives you your pupilary distance accurately. And, my optician was really nice when I said I was ordering my glasses online and offered to check that they were correctly calibrated when they turned up.
