It's Friday night, lets make a list of decent films you have seen recently.
and watch on 4+1 in a minute.
and I'm now a bit on edge. Really good, really tense.
that was decent
after reading this article (contains SPOILERS) http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/filmblog/2011/nov/18/my-favourite-film-in-bruges
Can't find the bastard DVD though.
would reccomend all three
seems pretty good so far.
I'd recommend all three of them.
Excellent. Even allowing for the massive liberties taken with the book.
This was the highlight for me: http://vimeo.com/11078489
I forgot how high-pitched and whiny Chris Tucker is. Jackie Chan though, as always, makes up for it.
one of the most beautifully made films ive ever seen.
Eyes Wide Shut
Lancelot Du lac
We Need To Talk About Kevin was pretty good
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was brilliant
As much as I enjoyed it, I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking it was pretty yawnsome.
good film and that, but I refuse to believe any child could be that consistently evil and manipulative from the age of about 2 onwards. The ridiculousness of that part of it made it almost farcical at times. Guess that's a problem with the story itself rather than the film though.
Just watched Funny Ha Ha tonight, which I really liked. Quite apart from being able to relate to a fair bit of it, the dialogue was beautifully naturalistic and the way relationships unfolded felt very real.
was my biggest gripe with the film. It killed the drama of his side of the story and what he'd done in the end.
it would have been a far more interesting story if we'd got to explore some ideas about what shaped him and how things might or might not have turned out differently. Instead it was just like he was born evil and stayed evil and then - SPOILER ALERT GUYZ - the crushingly inevitable happened and he shot up his school.
It's a shame because a lot of the film was brutally effective and the way his mum's life was dissected in the before/after way was really really good.
Based on one very interesting conceptual idea, visually stunning, perfect soundtrack.
The rest did not impress me so much. It has moments that it's quite boring - how can this happen with so many good "raw materials"?
