So yeah, which complete collection should I get for christmas.
The West Wing, Six Feet Under or The Sopranos?
But I like the sound of all three, so I'm hoping to gauge general consensus.
The other two are head and shoulders above almost everything else.
Well, except The Wire is better than Sopranos. Just.
Just below The Wire and Breaking Bad in terms of the greatest shows of all time.
The West Wing is great but doesn't have the same re-watchability I wouldn't say, I sold my boxset of it
Arrested Development was about £22 when I got it, I'll nominate that, if it's eligible.
It is also the only TV boxset I own. One day I'll finally buy the Lost boxset.
I love it more than my (hypothetical) children.
i'd put it down to a choice of backdrops - politics, death/life or gangsters.
i watched all 3 as boxsets - sopranos is the easiest watch, then west wing then six feet under - not because it's any worse just because i found it quite heavy and needed a bit of light relief at times.
and so I'd suggest The Sopranos, which is fantastic. However you should definitely watch The West Wing too, which I'm currently re-watching and it hasn't aged badly and in fact shows how intelligent and forward thinking the writing was.
LOST, Twin Peaks, Breaking Bad > the above
150 episodes compared to about 80 of the Sopranos and 60 of Six Feet Under. They're all magnificent though and you should get all of them eventually.
But as Steve13 said you should really get round to watching all of them.
Okay, I'm apparently alone in this sentiment but it just seemed like a bunch of whiny characters whining about their lives. Sort of like how when you watch The Breakfast Club when you're no longer a teenager you just want to shake them tell them to stop with the self-pity, already.
Would be £45.99 well spent.
