because you feel proud about being up before 1.
waking up is the one time i wish i was unemployed
this also means that you need to make a conscious effort to go to bed before 4am (something I struggle with). Also, you do constructive things like search for jobs, sort out your horrible finances and eat more than one meal a day!
Altho it's also important to get dressed and get out - otherwise another day of watching daytime TV in your pants beckons no matter what time you wake up.
That's depressing, although I've completed more games than ever whilst playing at 5AM.
Any earlier and you realise you have nothing to do, any later then you feel guilty
If you turn up to your pretend place of work late or whenever you like people will begin to suspect you're not actually employed there.
get up for the job you WANT to have
Treat it like a normal work day. Get up, shower, eat breakfast, brush your teeth but make sure you do it all with the intention of getting to work on time. Then when you've picked up your keys, briefcase, umbrella etc. walk purposefully back to bed, get in and congratulate yourself on a job well done. If you're going to be unemployed make sure you make the most of it.
you could commute to work and back in one journey, thus saving money!
No point getting up before 10 (waking up before then is fine if you then lie around daydreaming for a bit, but not *too* much before). Too much after 11 and I feel guilty.
That said, in reality it's generally between 11.30 and 1.
Whenever it is, you then need a looong shower followed by an hour or two of sitting around in a towel and not really focussing on anything. Open the curtains sometime in the afternoon, around about the time you have your breakfast/lunch combi-meal (Top Tip: alternating which of these afternoon activities you do first can help bring some exciting variety to your days).
Routine goes out the window when you have to get up to sign on though. I've got to be at the Job Centre for 10.50 tomorrow. TEN-FIFTY! I'll have to wake up at, like, NINE. Bloody cruel and unusual punishment, that's what that is...
had a pizza, then fell back to sleep until 8pm.
I'm a mess.
so between 12-3
It helps staves off depression and the gradual, debilitating erosion of your self-esteem.
Not by much, mind.
the only problem is that it gives you more time to spend with the soul-sucking entity known as "Daytime TV"
Everything else, not so much.
Might as well take the opportunity to get a good rest but, also, to leave enough of the day to get focused and doing stuff.
