Peep Show
was round a mates the other week and he was telling me how great this programme was. He was amazed that I had never even seen an episode and didnt even know it was a comedy (not sure how that happened either)
Anyway he lent me all seven series on dvd and I've been ploughing my way through them and must admit its bloody brilliant>
Does anyone else share this appreciation and if so whats the best series? (I'm currently on series three)
Nope, never heard of it.
Season 3 is the pinnacle I reckon
Nancy <3
It's a great show though, the fact that I can relate to Mark's inner-dialogue so much and so regularly worries me though.
Yes, thats the frightening thing for me too
Marks inner dialogue and over analysis of every situation is very familiar to mine.
Seasons 2 and 3 are the peak.
Last couple of series have been a bit average.
Seasons? Fuck sake.
Blaming that on Antpocalypsenow.
would anyone agree with this hierarchy?
series 3 > s2 > s7 > s6 > s5 > s1 > s4
series 8 can't come soon enough IMO.
inb4 pinkerton > TKOL > green album > the bends etc.
swap 2 and 3
but otherwise spot on. season 1 isn't particularly poor, it just takes a little while to get going and the show gets better in the next 2 series.
Roll on S8!
Would broadly agree yeah
Think it's 2 and 3 at the top, followed by 6 then 7 with 5 and 1 both being great and 4 a tad patchy.
I look forward to the Christmas Special in 2028 where Mark's kid brings back their first romantic interest for the night...
No.
3 = 2 > 1 > 4 > 5 > 6 > 7
I'll fight anyone who thinks episode 3 of the second series isn't one of the best episodes of any show ever
cos it bloody is
s2 is my fave - especially the one where mark becomes friends with a racist

that's ep2 my friend
oh yeah
woops that's what i meant
YEAH, GOOD RIDDANCE, YA FUCKING...NAZI.
i want a kebab
tell you what, that crack is really morish
Series 2>3>7>6>5>1>4
The past 2 series have been a real revival, not that 4 or 5 were bad they just weren't as consistent as they once were... I think the consistency has come back lately, has to be said I felt Season 4 was terrible opnce but it's stood up well on repeat viewings
Yeah, so I love Peep Show and all but
I put it on the other day as i fancied a laugh, randomly picked the episode that ends up at marks birthday party. The one where jeremy asks him to dance after panning round all his love interests pairing off with other blokes. Felt more like having a little cry to be honest.
Why does everyone love 6 and 7 so much?
Fuck sake guys.
It might be because we were starved (and still are starved) of good sitcoms at time of release
or they're just really funny
They're alright like
but putting them above series 1 is absolute madness. 4 and 5 are better too - I found 5 incredibly disappointing at the time but I quite like it now. I've yet to have that same click with 6 and 7. Maybe in time...
Watched all of 7 the other day having not noticed it came out whenever it did.
Superb, really glad they didn't bring the baby into too much and change everything.
Seas..eries 8? Now how's that gonna work what with the fact that they're not. Don't want to spoil it for the op. But yeah 8, maybe one too far. Or not, i dunno, anyway don't want to overthink this one too much i'm not trying to trick the boiler or anything.
Everyone thought it was one too many after Sophie and Marks marriage
& The baby
but we were wrong :D
I know what you mean
Are they making another series then? I haven't seen it mentioned before and everyone seems to be doing other things
4's the first one I got into, so
4.
There are a couple of weaker episodes in 4
but I think it's pretty strong overall. The last episode would have been such a good ending for the whole show, I was quite surprised when they kept it going.
isn't that the series with the dog? brilliance
jez: you've been as high as it's possible to go
orgazoid: yeah i suppose i have
jez: and you've been as low as it's possible to go
orgazoid: yeah i have
jez: and what's it like being that high?
orgazoid: oh it's amazing
jez: and what's it like being that low?
orgazoid: terrible
superhans: and what's it like in the middle?
orgazoid: yeah it's alright
Years ago this got moved to 10pm on a Friday, and as I was a social butterfly
I stopped watching it. I've been intending to sit down and watch all of them the whole way through, it just hasn't ever happened. Maybe one day soon.
Got the 1-6 box set
But have not managed to get past midway through series 2. Its funny, I guess, but drags on a bit. I'll probably never get to series 6.
The first series is brilliant
Second and third series are as well, but it was starting to get formulaic. Can't remember when I stopped watching, probably around series 5 or 6 when it had turned into Terry & June but with ruder jokes.
I actually like the fact that it goes on and rehashes stuff.....I would be quite happy for it to be on every year
after all thats what its about....two flatmates that cant escape and have a better life, they cling to each other as being the only permenant aspects of their lives when other attempts at other life options fail......its also a sitcom about quiet desperation.....it ages naturally......you think ....oh no there they go again, but thats the same for their characters as well....the history to the series works......much like steptoe and son, you are allowed to count the history of the previous episodes.
Still love it and them
I want a series 8
so Mitchell stops doing every single panel show, and Webb just does... *something* worthwhile.
dog eating episode was my favourite.
'there's many things I'd do for you Jeremy, but digging in the cold, hard dirt to bury a dog you just killed isn't one of them.'
