I haven't spotted any yet. Have you?
but there is a house on my street that never took them down from last year
with lights and shit all over the outside wall. Haven't seen them switched on yet. Why do people do this? What's their electricity bill gonna be like? Get a life.
There was a house across the road covered in lights for a few days the other week but that was for a wedding apparently. Well I did some curtain twitching and there was a bride and wedding cars and that.
It could feasibly just be an extravegant normal decoration, but it looked Christmassy to me. There's some DIY warehouse in town which already has a string of lights on along the guttering.
i had no idea you could even do it in a classy way before i came here, but you really really can
of course some are horrendous though.
i think it's lovely. when i'm walking down a street at 5.30pm and it looks like it's midnight and it's alltogether depressing, the lit up houses make me feel better.
there's one family across the road from home that has the entire front of their house decorated in lights for a month. their bills must be ridiculous but i love it <3
Do you have Christmas decorations anyway? My other half won't have it because we're spending Christmas Day with my mum and he sees it as pointless. I want a tree damnit.
but my girlfriend doesn't see the point. I'm also lazy to the point of somnambulance and the thought of carrying it home doesn't fill me with festive cheer, so it's pretty likely we won't get one.
but don't think we'll get a tree this year
and haven't had decorations for the past couple of years, cos Christmas has seemed to kinda creep up without us realising, and it means rearranging stuff to make room for the tree, and and and....
Gonna make a concerted effort to drag the tree out this year though.
I'm going away next week. I hope they've decorated already. Might bring my own.
Usually two weeks before christmas we go and get our tree.
It's a real big job to put them up, so I understand why you might start at it in November.
But i drove past them at the weekend, and their lights were already on! Madness...
It was only some fairy lights in the garden, though. I just decided they would become generic decor.
can we start the 'real tree vs plastic tree' rammy now please?
